Opinion: Fantastic Fermentation

By Mise En Place(miseenplace08@gmail.com) Overall, this was one great episode for learning about using fermented alcohols, oh and how can you not like the ones when the yeasties appear? Five fine wine bottles for a great episode! Although, I liked the name on the fridge, Food Under the Influence, better for the title.

By Mise En Place(miseenplace08@gmail.com) Last week I was preparing to go see Alton Brown and failed to post a review of both the Anniversary show and the new episode on breakfast food. I will say this about "Another Man Food Show," I guess you have to be a man to get it. It was not one of my favorites. Although, I loved the first "Man Food Show...

By noreply@blogger.com (One SAHD Dude) In my opinion, as a longstanding Good Eats fan, the 10th Anniversary show really bombed. There, I said it. At the first commercial break I turned it off and let the DVR record the rest for later viewing. In fact, I watched the This Old House Hour instead. I even managed to dig up an old picture o...

By Mise En Place(miseenplace08@gmail.com) I've probably said I'm Just Here for More Food is my favorite cookbook as many times as AB has said "Oh bother" on Good Eats and there is good reason. Every recipe I've tried from this book is a winner--not to say his other books or even GE's recipes aren't equally as wonderful, but the recipes f...

By Mise En Place(noreply@blogger.com) If you told me to pick my favorite Alton Brown show it would be very difficult. I love Good Eats and have learned so much from watching. I think of it as the culinary education I never had. But I have an equal love for Feasting on Asphalt. I never thought in a million years a travel/food show would be w...

By Mise En Place(noreply@blogger.com) His Alton's Angles knives from Shun are a perfect example. These are amazing and fantastic pieces of cutlery. He uses them on the show and he designed them. To me that says Alton truly believed in the product. I love mine so much and genuinely see and feel a difference between them and my lesser qu...

By editor@gearheadmom.com I am a huge fan of Alton Brown of Good Eats/Food TV fame. I love his scientific/geeky/humorous approach to food. He’s also got some tasty recipes, I use any excuse to make his chewy chocolate chip cookies . Anyway, Alton Brown is not a ...
