Kevin Skinner, the singing chicken farmer from Mayfield, Ky., was awarded the talent competition's $1 million grand prize and a headlining spot at a Las Vegas show. He received the most viewer votes on Wednesday's season finale, overcoming Barbara Padilla.

After spending the better part of a day behind the scenes and on the set of “America’s Got Talent,” something became painfully obvious. Although the ratings stand as pretty sufficient evidence, this show … really is good. In fact, it's better than “American Idol.”

Instead of choosing between two acts for one coveted spot in final round of "America's Got Talent," the judges changed things up Wednesday and invited both acts to return to the NBC talent show.

“What she has done is laid the gauntlet down to America,” says juge Piers Morgan. “Beat that. She’s the biggest star from any talent show ever. See what you can do, America.”

Hundreds came down to the Plaza on Friday for a chance to audition for "America's Got Talent." Matt, Meredith, Ann and Al have narrowed it down to four. Now it's up to you to decide who will be going to Los Angeles to audition for the show. ...
