Jeff Datz, who has spent the previous 19 seasons in the Cleveland Indians organization, was hired today as Orioles manager Dave Trembley's new bench coach. Datz replaces Dave Jauss, who was let go by Trembley earlier this month after two seasons on the coaching staff.

By James Baker I know Dave Trembley said that the Orioles intend to keep Loewen in the pen for the rest of the year, but that was said when a healthy Matt Albers was sitting out in left-center field.  With Albers down you have to think that Loewen is the next man in line.
