Millar does a wonderful job unveiling the mystery behind Jerry and Clyde. Clearly there is more than meets the eye with these two childhood friends. Millar plants the seeds that Jerry is not your average man. I found it interesting that Jerry emotionally tells Toby that nobody wants to hear stories about comic book characters coming to life. It seems that maybe Jerry knows this first hand. It is possible that Jerry saw comic boo...

Marvel Comics Carey & Eaton Back in the present, Gambit gets into trouble and is bailed out by Sebastian Shaw, who is also on the hit list. While this is going on, Sinister takes Xavier on a tour of all his bad “daddy” mistakes with Cyclops and his X-Men. He pretty much makes Xavier look like a real failure. Xavier is taken captive while he is fighting in his mind with Sinister. Gambit and Shaw pursue. Shaw explains much of the plot to Gambit. Basically Sinister prepared for his death by finding a way to infuse his mind into someone else’s body. He picked a few mutants for this. Shaw and Xavier are among them. Basically Sinister is going to assume Xavier’s body. But there is a twist in this issue. [read the full post]

By Rokk Krinn(noreply@blogger.com) Captain America is tacos in the bank. This title is always an excellent read. Captain America #39 should be entertaining as we get to see Bucky cross paths with the 1950’s Captain America. I am confident that Brubaker has another strong issue in store for us. Let’s go ahead and do this review for Captain America #39. Bucky exclaims that the 1950’s Cap sounds just like Steve Rogers. Bucky says that maybe Senator Wright is their link from Kronas to Red Skull to this other Captain America. Overall: Captain America #39 was another enjoyable read. Brubaker is money on this title. There are few titles on the market as consistently good as Captain America. I strongly urge you to give this title a try. It will appeal to you regardless if you ever liked Captain Ame... The bartender then gives Spider-Man an address. Spider-Man leaves and the bartender then places a phone call to someone that Spider-Man is on his way. The Bad: The fact remains that Amazing Spider-Man is not actually a part of the Marvel Adventures line of comic books. At least, it is not officially a part of the Marvel Adventures titles. This has been my biggest criticism of this “new” Amazing Spider-Man. I don’t mind all-ages stories. That is exactly the role of the Marvel Adventure titles. [read the full post]

Miss Banner then introduces Logan to her brothers Otis and Charlie. Comments The Good: Wolverine #66 was an absolute blast to read. Millar did a fantastic job quickly hooking me with this debut issue of his story arc “Old Man Logan.” I have always found it clear that the source material for Wolverine was the Man With No Name. Logan has always come across as Marvel’s mutant Man With No Name. All the cartoon versions of Wolverine even sport that trademark Eastwood sounding voice. [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Spider-Man mentions that Captain America said that he thought there was some rebellious faction in SHILED trying to kill the Avengers. Evidently, Captain America felt there was something rotten going on with SHIELD. Spider-Man then says that the Skrulls were mining vibranium here and then tried to kill the Avengers here. The ending to New Avengers #41 was a total miss for me. That is because I find the plotline involving the 1970’s Captain America to be completely lacking in drama or intrigue. We know that the 1970’s Captain America is a Skrull. We have seen Steve’s dead body over on Captain America after he was killed by Sharon Carter. I find this 1970’s Captain America plotline a bit of a waste of time. [read the full post]

Ross says that Banner needs to help them answer why this new Hulk would kill Abomination, what is with the radiation emitted by the second Hulk and why does he use a gun. We cut to red Hulk and Abomination being attacked by robot harpies that sport Betty Ross’ face. The red Hulk chuckles that the use of Betty’s face on these robots was meant to rattle Banner if he ever escaped. Red Hulk says that he isn’t Banner. That he is his own monster.
