There were at least a dozen games in 2007-08 where Ray Allen had a hot hand, but still scored less than 20 poi...

I am a little worried that the Bulls will be intimidated by Kevin Garnett

Pierce silky smooth.

Between Rondo, Garnett, and Marquis Daniels the Celtics sure do have a lot of players that look like aliens...

Ray Allen is murdering Salmons

I dislike Boston.

<title>Opinion: The 2008 Playoffs: Where the Revival of the NBA&apos;s Two Flagship Franchises Happened</title>

The Celtics finished with the best record in the NBA (66-16), while the Lakers had the best record in perhaps the most competitive Western Conference race ever (57-25). The top two seeds have generally not both made it to the Finals in recent seasons but the Celtics and Lakers each vanquished tough foes to advance to the championship round, where Boston earned the right to hoist a 17th championship banner, denying Phil Jackson his 10th coaching title and Bryant his fourth ring as a player and in the process completing the one blank space on the Hall of Fame resumes of Garnett, Allen and 2008 Finals MVP Paul Pierce.

Curse the Celtics!! May their cockiness get the best of them!!

Something inside tells me we win this game, we win this series. I think an angel is talking to me.

Garnett has given at least 3 illegal screens in the 2nd half... Such BS

The Boston Celtics lose to sasha vujacic and Kobe Bryant here at staples center....

There was no lakers tonight...there was 2 people....vs the Celtics!

2-1! Finally we beat Boston this season

Great pic, all 5 Celtics in shock and awe.

Pierce - sprained knee Perkins- sprained ankle Rondo - sprained ankle Cassell - sprained wrist PJ Brown - old age Celtics are in trouble.

Well, the Pistons have finished off the Magic in 5 games. They won on the road and they did it without Chauncey Billups. That should concern the Celtics in that they haven&apos;t been able to get it done on the road in 5 tries at full strength. Another thing that is concerning is that the Pistons are now sitting back and resting while the Celtics are going to have to go at least 6 games and possibly 7 if the Celtics can find some heart somewhere. This is assuming that the Celtics can come back and win 2 more games. I used to think that the Celtics were a lock for the Eastern Conference finals but the way they have been playing I don&apos;t know any more.

Here are comments found around the Hawks boards during their game with the Celtics. The Hawks earned this win and their fans can be proud of their team. However, the Celtics are very mad at themselves right now for javascript:void(0)

Publish Posthow they played and I wouldn&apos;t bet against them in game 4.

Garnett verbally abuses one of our players every time he scores or blocks a shot and Horford was just repaying the favor.

KG has been taunting Horford constantly since the last regular season game. They have no business crying when Horford taunts them back.

Well it could be worse..you can tell we are getting in a couple of the Celtic players heads

What we all know is that Celtics though have the best record, they are not one of the top teams in the league. Like the lakers with the big 4, nice face, but not much use. I doubt if they could even make the east finals.

Like the Celtics are so proud of the game yesterday against the spurs, but the thing is, the Celtics strived, but the spurs are merely fine tuning for the play offs, popovic said he &quot;regret not calling a time off&quot;... that&apos;s not what a top coach would hesitate doing in a true game, he was just letting the players make decisions on the court. There is really not much to brag about.

The lakers with gasol IS a top team in the league, and better than the Celtics.

LBJ &amp;gt; KG + Allen + Pierce

LBJ &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt; Celtics &amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;&amp;gt;Doc Rivers

Pierce and Ray can combine to out score LBJ by 30, but at the end of the day, the impact of LBJ far exceeds the impact of any combination of Boston Celtics...

Boohoo Paul Pierce&quot;

Hahaha.... Of course Paul Pierce has stomach problems. Facing Lebron always seems to make him sick.

Wow, Austin Carr really making fun of PP. Lol

Great - Rondo hitting his jumpers

Imagine how much better we&apos;d be if we had gotten Ray Allen instead of Hughes.

Ray Allen is flat out ridiculous.

Celtics are very good, they&apos;re showing it without KG and a sick Pierce.

Perkins annoys me for some reason

Tony Allen is destroying Damon Jones

Tonight was the 61st anniversary of the first game that Red Auerbach coached in and before the game, they announced that the parquet would be known as the Red Auerbach court from now on. The Red Sox were also honored before the game as they came out onto the floor with their World Championship trophy wearing Celtics shirts.

The final score was 103-83 and the result was never in doubt from the first quarter on, although the Wizards did cut the lead to 16 at one point after it had ballooned to 27 in the third quarter. And, the Celtics weren&apos;t even at their best. If this game is any indication, it is going to be a very good year for Celtics fans!

Season Preview: Boston Celtics

On July 31, everything changed for this franchise when Danny finally was able to pull the trigger on a trade for Kevin Garnett. He had to give up Al Jefferson, Ryan Gomes, Sebastian Telfair, Gerald Green, Theo Ratliff and 2 first round picks to get him and immediately there was concern that we gave up too much in the trade and would have no bench. Al Jefferson was a very popular player and was just on the verge of breaking out as an All Star himself. So at first, the reaction to the trade was mixed. But when Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Kevin Garnett appeared together at the press conference, most doubts were gone.

The day is finally here! The first game of the Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce, and Ray Allen era for the Boston Celtics. I haven&apos;t been this excited for a preseason game since the days when Larry Bird walked through those doors.

Comcast SportsNet continues their coverage of training camp with video interviews of Fabio and Danny as well as video of Ray Allen and Powe enjoying Rome. Mike Gorman updated his video blog yesterday. Peter Stringer keeps us informed with his updated blog every day.

Only 4 hours until game time and I couldn&apos;t be more excited. After all of this build up and anticipation, we finally get to see Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen play for the Celtics. Ubuntu!

Still nothing in the Globe today on the Celtics. They do have an article on the USA women&apos;s team, though. The Herald is covering Isaiah&apos;s trial but not the Celtics. They even have a second article on Isaiah and his love/hate relationship with the plaintiff. I can&apos;t wait until the Boston media wakes from their midsummer&apos;s sleep and post some articles on the Celtics.

In the Bangor Daily News, the Big O sizes up the Celtics. The problem with the Celtics right now is they haven&#8217;t played yet,&quot; said Robertson. &quot;Everything is potential right now. It looks like they&#8217;re going to do all right. But they&#8217;ve got to go get a good center and defensive rebounder who can play.

In the Globe, Shira discusses the fact that the Celtics are moving on and preparing for the fifth pick. The Globe has a list of players that the Celtics are looking at including Brewer, Green, Horford, Noah, Thornton, B Wright, J Wright, and Yi. Of that list, I like Brewer and Noah the best. We need defense, leadership, and someone who knows how to win. These guys will give us that. On the other side of it, Jackie M doesn&apos;t believe that we are cursed, just the victim of bad management and bad luck.

Covers.com has an article that calls Danny, Doc and the owners fools and the piece ends with these thoughts. The danger of selecting fifth is Ainge could trade the pick, even though there&#8217;s going to be an excellent player available such as Al Thornton, Julian Wri...
