The "BU Beach", located behind Marsh Plaza and the College of Arts and Sciences building, is a popular place for students to gather during warm weather. It gets its name from the wave-like sounds produced by cars passing on nearby Storrow Drive.

Boston University Medeiros scholarships were recently awarded to 14 graduating students from Boston archdiocesan high schools. The four-year full-tuition scholarships are part of the University’s Cardinal Humberto Medeiros Scholarship Program, established in 1986, which honors students for their academic achievement, leadership qualities, and service to their schools and communities. With this year’s recipients, BU has enrolled 241 Medeiros Scholars, totaling more than $21 million in scholarships. Fourteen graduating students from Boston area archdiocesan high schools recently were awarded Boston University Medeiros scholarships. The University’s Cardinal Humberto Medeiros Scholarship Program, established in 1986, gives four-year full-tuition scholarships to students for their academic achievement, leadership qualities, and service to their schools and communities.
