This show most definitely fits in the USA Network’s slew of shows, which include Burn Notice and Royal Pains. It has good pacing and interesting chemistry between Matt Bormer and Tim DeKay, something that isn’t easy to fake. They work well on the screen, there is no denying this.

But it's amiable enough, and maybe in time it'll make the same creative leap that "Burn Notice" did between seasons one and two. In the meantime, I'll watch, but unless there's something I specifically want to write about, I won't be writing.

Cultural Observations As for the plot itself, I thought it was well done: the integration of Moz into the case was really enjoyable, the tension between Neal and Cindiana was solid (Callie Thorne has now done the USA Trifecta of Burn Notice/Royal Pains/White Collar), and the tension abo...

Opinion: Series Premiere: White Collar – “Pilot”
source: memles (WordPress)
White Collar is the latest show to join this stable, and at first glance it is also one of their best. Borrowing heavily from Catch Me if You Can and Burn Notice, the show eschews explosions in favour of a more sly sort of series. Rather than following someone applying professional skills in an...

Charming 'White Collar' just loose enough to be comfortable

The good news is that there are more than two reasons to like “White Collar,” a crime-caper show with a “Catch Me If You Can” vibe. Bomer, who played a similarly resourceful character on NBC’s “Chuck,” supplies suave charm as Neal Caffrey, a counterfeiter who has the skills and the dazzling...

Michael And Michael Have Issues. Episode 4. "Pulling Your Weight" Black slacks off. There are flaws here (guest star Tricia Helfer is completely wasted) but - overall - I really enjoyed this and am glad I didn't write this off after the pilot. The best episode so far. Lots of running around and a story that you wouldn't see on any other show right now. And it's a fun story, too. Sure, people could die (theoretically) but this is a show like Burn Notice: it's fun to watch. Evan continues to get great laughs and is probably my favourite character in the show. He's a perfect foil for Hank and the show would be much weaker without him. One of the highlights of Season One.

But, after originating on NBC, "L&O:CI" migrated to sibling USA, which has put together a cluster of dramas that are lighter in tone and subject matter and have more quirkily upbeat characters, as in "Monk," "Psych" and "Burn Notice."
