By vegasjs It looks like Lilly is hot, Z is getting set for another big september, Dempster has a strong arm due to his break during the season and Harden can always run off a set of wins. These guys have not given up and nor shall I. If the Cubs go 20-4 (not impossible) and Colorado plays .500 ball its a Cubs/Ro...

By Al Oh, the heck with it. There is no positive spin you can put on today's depressing 3-0 Cub shutout loss to the Astros, the first shutout loss since... the last time the Astros were in town a month ago, when they blanked the Cubs and Ryan Dempster on Tornado Siren Night, a game shortened to eight inni...

By noreply@blogger.com (Chaim Witz) The Cubs now move on to play the Rays. A few years ago and fans would be cursing the baseball gods for putting such an abomination on the schedule, but now it makes for a potentially intriguing and exciting series. I'm sure the national press will be all over the whole Cliff Floyd vs. his former ma...

By snakecharmer Good news - the O'Dawg can sit in the dugout (Tribune) for this series! There's also a really nice story on how a first baseman, a left fielder, and a second baseman walked into a bar. (Tribune) (Just trust me.) Tonight. 7pm. Game 1. Webb vs Zambrano. Be there!

Rate Cubs first round playoff scheduling stupidity

Original at matthom Category posts external link    Tue, Oct 2

I'm really not happy with the scheduling for the Cubs first round of playoffs with the Arizona Diamondbacks, which begins tomorrow night on TBS. The first two games air at 9 PM local Chicago time, both on weeknights. The weekend games also present awkward times.

By snakecharmer Another possible advantage of pitching Davis second is his 8-3 record at Chase Field and Hernandez's 4-2 record with a 2.97 ERA in eight career games at Wrigley Field, where the D-backs will play Games 3 and 4 if they draw the Cubs as their first-round opponents.

By David Hannes So that 3-game series at Chase a week from Monday may serve as a glimpse if the Brewers can win at Arizona and advance beyond the first round. I know, I know…it is waaaay too early for any meaningful guesses as to who will be the four NL teams to make the post-season, but that’s never stopped me. As...
