One of Broadway Cares' most anticipated events is the annual Flea Market and Grand Auction which takes place every September (this year it is Sunday, September 21st) in Shubert Alley just off of Times Square. Many theatrical treasures can be found IF you are lucky enough to be in Times Square on that date. In an effort to reach out to those who are not able to make it into New York City but want to feel as though they are a part of the fun, we are running our fifth (hopefully annual) special "FLEABAY" auction through the month of September featuring at least 100 items that are typical of our true Broadway Flea Market finds. From authentic costumes to unique opening night gifts, from scripts to rare posters, many items featured are the only ones we have received. Here is your chance to get in on the "auction action" from the comfort of your very own home. To accommodate as many items as quickly as possible, these items will have a more brief description than our usual eBay items. LOT #9 - With AMERICAN IDOL SENSATION CLAY AIKEN’S name printed in white on a blue background, this authentic Broadway lobby slider let audience members know that Clay (rather than his understudy) would be playing Sir Robin in SPAMALOT, the long-running Broadway sensation now in its fourth year. Taking over a role originally performed on Broadway by David Hyde Pierce, Aiken played Sir Robin form Jan 18 through May 4 of this year, receiving rave reviews.
