Green Day frontman Billie Joe Armstrong has had his own official athletic shoe released by Converse sneakers. The primarily black sneaker is made of hemp and leather, with red eyelets for the laces and a red sole. The shoe retails for $69.99 a pair, with ten percent of the net wholesale price going to The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. A wide variety of sizes are available, going up to 13 and a half for those larger Green Day fans.
Green Day bassist Mike Dirnt has his own custom shoe coming out soon as well.
The punk trio is working in Los Angeles on its first official studio album since 2004’s American Idiot, although they released an album as the Foxboro Hot Tubs earlier this year.
