OH The 2007 Mavericks were 67-12 against the rest of the NBA, but 0-3 against the Golden State Warriors. And unfortunately for Dallas, its first-round playoff opponent was Golden State. The Mavs dropped Game 1 at home and were blasted by 18 in Game 3 to ...

By sank63 Back then the Warriors used to fly commercial when they traveled and I remember one day flying to Phoenix to see the Warriors vs. Suns, (and my wife’s parents)on good old Southwest. By restrictedfreedom(restrictedfreedom@yahoo.com) At least he didn't go to the San Antonio Spurs like Robert Horry or the Dallas Mavericks like Devean George or even the Phoenix Suns like Shaq, I really can't stand any of those teams, but I don't really have a problem with the Warriors, I actually was routing for them when they had that little...

By Basketbawful Mork from Ork ... I mean, Dirk ... .scored 32 points and hit a clutchtastic three with 0.9 seconds left to lift Dallas to a 97-94 victory over the Utah Jazz. The win — the Mavs' second straight over a top-tier team — not only helped Dallas reach the 50-win marker, it also secured their playoff berth. Not ba...

By Basketbawful The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh away: Not only did the Wiz drop the game, DeShawn Stevenson rolled his ankle and Antawn Jamison hurt his shoulder diving into the crowd trying to save a loose ball. Ouch. Also, the Bucks may have won the game, but Atlanta's win over Toronto mathematically e...

By Basketbawful Mmmm, beefy. On a night in which the Denver Nuggets thrashed the Dallas Mavericks 118-105 to move within a half-game of the West's final playoff spot - and within one game of the seventh-place Mavs - the biggest news was the return of Nene, who had a testicular tumor removed just two and a half...
Opinion: Mavericks Follow Correct Prescription, Run Warriors off of the Court

By David Friedman Anyone who visits this site regularly knows that I have repeatedly insisted (most recently in this post) that teams should not be afraid to run against the Golden State Warriors and that the Dallas Mavericks could have avoided their upset loss to the Warriors in last year's playoffs if the Mavericks had pushed the ball up the court instead of trying to slow the game down. These truths were once against confirmed in Dallas' 121-99 win over Golden State on Wednesday night. Dirk Nowitzki scored a game-high 29 points on 9-16 shooting, adding eight rebounds, six assists and three blocked shots. Nowitzki had a game-high plus/minus rating of +25. Five other Mavericks also scored in double figures, including Josh Howard, who had 19 points and a gam... [read the full post]
