Mike Modano had two goals for Dallas, which has dropped three straight and six of its last seven games. Marty Turco stopped 21-of-25 shots for the Stars, who entered Monday having allowed 70 goals, the most in the Western Conference.

Daley is still a tweener on this defensive group, not as young as Nicklas Grossman or Matt Niskanen, but not as seasoned as Robidas or Zubov. On a Stars team that needs to grow up quickly, Daley also has to advance his game. But coach Dave Tippett has seen the progression.
