The new "Bachelor" officially announced on "Dancing with the Stars" follows the tradition of losers becoming choosers. And like the last few people doing the choosing on the romantic reality show, he's been plucked from the reject pile of the previous season.

The most popular new show of the fall TV season by far is "NCIS: Los Angeles" (CBS, 9 p.m.). Another ambulance has to be called on "The Biggest Loser" (NBC, 8 p.m.). Eventually, Tom DeLay will be eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 9 p.m.). Maybe today.  Queen Latifah performs.

Paula Abdul was in the "Dancing with the Stars" audience next to former competitor Lance Bass, but only to observe with the rest of the live audience. The final determination as to who gets eliminated this week falls to female - and male - amateur judges, all voting at home.

The 20th season starts for "America's Funniest Home Videos" (ABC, 7 p.m.). Ten professional chefs compete on the second season of "The Next Iron Chef" (Food Network, 9 p.m.), where at least we learn where Mark Dacascos of "Dancing with the Stars" comes from. Alton Brown is the host and mentor.

The other person with the lowest scores (6-6-6 from the judges) was indicited former House Majority Leader Tom DeLay, who seems like he'll skate along for another week on supporters' votes or flat out fraud after a performance in which he almost dropped his partner Cheryl Burke.

Yes, it may all be fake. But it makes for OK drama as well. Better than the made up stuff on, say, "90210" (The CW, 8 p.m.). Someone else is eliminated from "Dancing with the Stars" (ABC, 9 p.m.), while on "SO You Think You Can Dance" (Fox, 9 p.m.), the auditions go on from Atlanta.

Aaron Carter and the singer Mya were the only two of the remaining 14 contestants who earned the first straight 9s of the season from a panel where Len Goodman was replaced for the night by movie director Baz Lehrmann. One will be eliminated in Tuesday's show.
