By legacysword@gmail.com (Kevin) Daredevil #501 marks the first issue of the newest creative team, Andy Diggle and Robert Del La Torre, run on this title. I am not too familiar with Diggle's previous work but I was not very impressed with what he did on Dark Reign: The List–Daredevil one-shot. And after were Ed Brubaker and Mi...

Bendis has really returned this title to the brilliance it once had and I can't wait to see what happens with Mysterio and a few other things. Kevin

Black Cat asks him how was jail (Amazing Spider-Man #587-588). Spider-Man says sorry but that he was busy with the (World) War (Hulk) and (Secret) Invasion and says under his breath he sho...

By legacysword@gmail.com (Kevin) Dark Reign: The List – Daredevil #1 – Originally I was only going to get the Spider-Man and Wolverine issue of Dark Reign: The List but after Daredevil #500 I decided to give this one-shot a try as it suppose to serve as a continuation of Matt being the leader of The Hand. By LaRevolucion44@aol.com (Rokk Krinn) DC COMICS MARVEL COMICS I am unsure if I am going to keep Daredevil on my permanent pull list past issue #500. I loved Frank Miller's run on Daredevil. By legacysword@gmail.com (Kevin) Also it does not help that the CGI for this show makes this a dull looking animated series. That would be Wolverine: Weapon X #1. I know that Wolverine is absolutely the last character that needs another comic book. And normally I would be ripping this move by Marvel to give us yet another Wolverine comic books. After all, Logan is possibly the most over-exposed character in comic books. Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? None. I am not getting much from Marvel this week and both titles should be good reads. [read the full post]

By LaRevolucion44@aol.com (Rokk Krinn) Writers: Ed Brubaker Pencils: David Aja Kingpin asks "Why?" Lady Bullseye comments that the Kingpin was naïve if he thought he could walk away from everything. Lady Bullseye says that the reasons for her attack are too numerous to list. However, if Kingpin wants a specific cause then he should ask Daredevil. Lady Bullseye pulls the two swords out of Kingpin's back. Kingpin falls to the floor. Lady Bullseye and the Hand ninjas exit the scene. Brubaker ends Daredevil #116 with a great hook ending. I am excited to see Kingpin make his return to New York City. And I cannot wait to see what plans Brubaker has for Kingpin in this new story arc. [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) DC COMICS MARVEL COMICS AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #576 DAREDEVIL & CAPTAIN AMERICA DEAD ON ARRIVAL INVINCIBLE IRON MAN #7 IRON MAN END Which Marvel comic book am I most looking forward to reading? There is only one comic book from Marvel this week that really gets me excited and that is Iron Man: End #1. C’mon, this is the ultimate Iron Man team of David Michelinie and Bob Layton teaming up once again to tell us Iron Man’s final story. Maybe Matt Fraction can take some notes on how to write Iron Man from these two masters. Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? I continue to find Amazing Spider-Man to be a thoroughly average read. I doubt that Amazing Spider-Man #576 will do anything to get me to change my opinion. [read the full post]

Anytime Doctor Doom comes calling, you know you are in for a wild ride. Also from Millar comes Marvel 1985 #2. I loved the first issue of this title and expect Marvel 1985 #2 to be just as good. However, the Marvel comic book that I am most looking forward to reading is Captain America #39. Yeah, what a surprise. Captain America is Marvel’s 800 pound gorilla and whatever week this title is published, it is almost a lock to be the Marvel comic book that I am most excited to read. [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Creative Team Writer: Brain Michael Bendis Artist: Alex Maleev I have always liked the original Ghost Rider and it is great to see Bendis reaching deep into Marvel’s continuity and link a modern character with a relatively obscure character from the past. DC always does a great job reaching back into their deep and rich history and using older characters as the foundation for new characters. I’m glad to see Marvel doing the same here. Alex Maleev delivers plenty of solid artwork. Even though I like Maleev, I still would not have tapped his style of art for this storyline. I prefer Maleev on darker, edgier and moodier titles like Daredevil and Moon Knight. [read the full post]

By Rokk Krinn Both of Brubaker’s reads were impressive. Captain America #35 was another quality read. However, it lacked that something special in order to win the Che. Daredevil #105 was flat out awesome. This month, Daredevil was actually better than Captain America. Daredevil #105 gave us an incredibly satisfying ending to the Mr. Fear story arc. I absolutely loved seeing the villain actually win at the end of a story arc. Thor #6 was another quality read. But, its slow pacing is what kept it from winning the Che. Ultimate Spider-Man #119 was a joy to read. This issue showcases everything that is enjoyable about Bendis’ writing. I wish Marvel would utilize Bendis on more titles like Ultimate Spider-Man that suit his talents rather than titles like New Avenger... [read the full post]

Brubaker has made this title one of Marvel’s strongest titles and a consistently good read. The ending of the last issue was a real “Oh shit!” moment and I cannot wait to see what happens next. Which Marvel comic book am I least looking forward to reading? Man, we have so many choices for this as well with Ghost Rider #15, New Avengers #34 and Punisher: War Journal #11. All of these titles are worthy of scorn since they have all been such pathetic reads for quite some time. [read the full post]
