The art, by Billy Tan, is quite competent (not counting the panel where Matt looks like Beavis - or is it Butthead? - from Beavis and Butthead), but doesn&apos;t quite suit a Daredevil comic, and probably adds to this particular issue feeling just a little too much like standard superhero fare.

The background to these panels is Ben Urich seeking out the &quot;new&quot; armored Daredevil. Matt faked his own death about a dozen issues earlier and he is trying to convince Ben that he is not Matt Murdock. Ben repeats the test he subjected Daredevil to when he first found out who he was: &quot;Make a blind...

Kingpin asks &quot; Why?&quot; Lady Bullseye comments that the Kingpin was na&#239;ve if he thought he could walk away from everything. Lady Bullseye says that the reasons for her attack are too numerous to list. However, if Kingpin wants a specific cause then he should ask Daredevil. Lady Bullseye pulls the two swords out of Kingpin&apos;s back. Kingpin falls to the floor. Lady Bullseye and the Hand ninjas exit the scene.

Brubaker ends Daredevil #116 with a great hook ending. I am excited to see Kingpin make his return to New York City. And I cannot wait to see what plans Brubaker has for Kingpin in this new story arc.

I think the clues have been there all along that the Hand are on recruitment campaign. They&apos;ve been testing Matt&apos;s friends, and &quot;turning&quot; the Black Tarantula and the White Tiger. While I was somewhat surprised that the big twist consisted of offering Daredevil the leadership of the Hand, my surprise wasn&apos;t so much that it went counter to what we&apos;ve seen before, but that the Hand would actually do that. Or rather, that Brubaker would write a story in which the Hand do that. Granted, this may all make sense further down the line, but right now I have to wonder what strange recruitment strategies they employ or why Daredevil of all people would fit their job description. And, if they bothered doing their research on this guy, they would also know tha...

Ultimately, I&apos;m looking forward to what lies ahead. Daredevil #115 didn&apos;t really do it for me in every respect, but I look at it as a temporary glitch. On the other hand, most of the reviews I&apos;ve read have been quite positive and the fanboys on CBR seemed to like it fine. Maybe it&apos;s just me. Either w...

<title>Early reviews and speculation on Daredevil #115</title>

There are a couple of good reviews out of Daredevil #115 as of this writing. The first one is Comics Bulletin&apos;s Dave Wallace and the second is by CBR&apos;s James Hunt. Both seem to be hinting at much the same thing: The conclusion of the Lady Bullseye arc is one you didn&apos;t see coming, but it is jarring in how it fits (or doesn&apos;t fit) with what has gone before while being interesting enough on its own merits to somewhat redeem the inconsistencies. Just to warn everyone, the CBR review does contain one spoiler that you might not want to know about, while the Comics Bulletin review doesn&apos;t give too much away. What I do find encouraging is that both reviewers in this case are left hopeful about what the future holds for the book, and that&apos;s something to be happy...

As I alluded to earlier, this is a look at some of the more sizzling images of Matt Murdock to come out of Maleev&apos;s tenure as Daredevil artist. While Matt has always been portrayed as being at least moderately attractive, Alex Maleev&apos;s realistic style managed to convey the kind of images that lets the reader imagine what the character would realistically look like. And some of the art he produced is of the kind that would literally make you drool. I&apos;ll have to whip up some lady eye candy for the straight male readers too, but for now it&apos;s all about the title character.

Okay, moving on to a beautifully drawn sequence of panels from Daredevil #35, where Matt goes out in costume to defy the journalists camped out outside his home. I like the detail here,...

The story is a continuation from the previous issue, which is one of the problems with doing single issue reviews of Marvel Comics from the Silver Age. Daredevil #111

Marvel Comics

Brubaker, Mann, Gaudiano &amp;amp; Hollingsworth

The start of a new arc gains a new reader: me. I read the freebie last month that explained the past four or five arcs of Daredevil and level set the field for new readers. I heard this issue was great so I gave it a shot and I liked it a lot. I didn&#8217;t think it was outstanding but I found it to be a really good start to a new arc.

The story appears to be simple enough. Matt and Dakota North, private eye, spend a little too much time together while Lady Bullseye watches Matt and some others reporting her findings to those who are ready to take them down. That&#8217;s really the whole story. However, the story goes deeper than just that.
