By janeysa79@gmail.com (janey) It took only minutes of watching the concert to cement the idea that the Miami native, runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol, continues to be the seemingly shy and unassuming personality he revealed on the popular reality show. However, Archuleta -– who turns 19 on Dec. 28 –- also...

By Meagan David Burger from the Salt Lake Tribune wrote a great review of David’s concert last night at Abravanel Hall in SLC, Utah! Regardless of David Archuleta’s performance Tuesday night at Abravanel Hall, the tweens and teenagers in the audience would still have shrieked and squealed in delight every time the 18-year-old Murray pop singer sang a note. David has an iTunes app available for download! It’s called “David Archuleta Open Mic – Christmas From the Heart” and costs $1.99! It’s designed for iPhones and iTouch cell phones, though. By Meagan Nothing says Christmas like coming home. That’s where David Archuleta hopes he’ll be this year — where his heart is, in Murray, Utah. Keith built a studio for the Archuletas in their Murray house, where they recorded the recent holiday backing tracks and also the demos for shopping Archuleta to labels post-”American Idol.” The major lesson learned? Not being afraid to take risks, said Archuleta. When David Archuleta performed in Utah for the first time after he finished second in the 2008 season of “American Idol,” the concert sold out. In between, Archuleta is writing a memoir, tentatively titled Chords of Strength , a reference to the partial vocal paralysis he suffered in 2004 but has now fully recovered from. Ah, I’m loving their review. :) I can’t help but feel that David must be tired from taking so many epic journeys as I listen to “What Child Is This,” another gorgeous track. Boy wonder continues to put those amazing pipes to work by singing the foreign language songs “Riu Riu Chiu” & “Ave Maria,” the latter of which is just incredible & holds a particularly special place in my heart. David wraps things up with the album’s sole newly-written track “Melodies Of Christmas.” Though an unmistakable pop Christmas song, Archie does a heck of a job keeping the focus on his wonderful voice. By Chris If you watch American Idol religiously like I do, then you definitely know who David Archuleta is. If you don’t watch the show, then you will become familiar with him soon. The second runner up, of last years Idol contestants, should have a long singing career ahead of him. The 18 year old singer from Miami played for a sold out crowd at the House Of Blues on Sunday. The crowd was full of very friendly moms with a slew of very excited children in tow. He sang his first single “Crush” and everyone sang along. He briefly left the stage, but came back for his encore. He sat at the piano and sang his two favorite songs. The first was “10,000 miles” originally by Vanessa Carlton. David sang it like the song was meant for him. He ended with a tearful version of “Angels”... [read the full post]
