By noreply@blogger.com (David Friedman) Any Denver fans who entertained notions that Carmelo Anthony and Allen Iverson would ever lead the Nuggets to playoff glory received a very rude awakening when Nuggets management "traded" starting center Marcus Camby to the L.A. Clippers for the right to swap second round draft picks in 2010. Camby is 34 years old but he is still a highly productive player: he won the 2007 Defensive Player of the Year Award and he has led the NBA in blocked shots the past three seasons and four times overall during his 12 year career. Last season, Camby averaged a career-high 13.1 rpg to rank second in the league. He has been selected to the All-Defensive Team for four straight seasons, including First Team nods in 2007 and 2008. By David Friedman The Nuggets are at their best offensively in the transition game or when they can set back screens to open up a player to catch a lob pass for an easy dunk. Otherwise, their halfcourt offense is not particularly imaginative: it consists mainly of either Iverson operating one on one from the wing or Anthony operating one on one from the wing or the post area. Sometimes there is some ball movement--Anthony Carter did have 10 assists--but for long stretches the Nuggets ride or die with one of their two stars going one on one. At a certain level perhaps that makes some sense; after all, you do want the ball to be in the hands of your best players. Still, this kind of "system" is not going to be effective against good defensive teams because it is too predic... [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan Here are some comments found around the Nuggets' boards during their game with the Celtics. One theme ran through both the Nuggets' and Celtics boards. The refs really were terrible. We can't even guard Derek Fisher when we play the Lakers, how can we guard RAY ALLEN, PAUL PIERCE & KG ALL AT ONCE? Impossible for the Nuggets.. Anyone else think the Celtics are thugs and even though they called a lot of fouls against them easily they could have called twice as many. Is this because the Celtics are a team the "NBA" wants to win??? Another reason I think the league has it in for the Nuggets. A very good game against the Celtics. We're the only west team that could get a win against em. Nice effort. [read the full post]
