Game 4 Random ThoughtsOriginal at LOY's PLACE a celtics green
• Sun, May 25
By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Game 4 is a pivotal game. If the Celtics win, they have the Pistons down 3-1 and need only 1 more game to advance with 2 tries at home to get it. If the Pistons win, they are right back in it with the series tied 2-2. The Pistons are 4-0 in games after a loss in the playoffs. They are a veteran team but they also have a habit of letting up and not playing hard after big victories. They seem to feel that they can turn it on whenever they need to. We know they are going to come back with more intensity than they showed in game 3 and the Celtics must be ready and match it. We will see a lot more pressure from the Pistons' defense tonight and the Celtics have to be ready to beat it with their passing game. They can't dribble through that kind of pressure. They have to move the ball... [read the full post]
Opinion: Comments from the Other Side - Pistons Game 3

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Here are comments found around the Pistons boards during game 3 with the Celtics. These are definitely more fun to read when we win. Enjoy! IF the Pistons get this game.....they will be smelling blood in the water and kill Boston in Game 4. I can't see Boston winning this game though. Say a prayer or whatever you believe in that the Pistons won't do their typical "Letdown Game" after a big win My concern is the Celtics are just due to win one on the road. The Pistons need to win both home games to keep the advantage. They gotta keep the Celts role players down and limit the Big Three to outside shots I don't care if Boston is 0-6 on the road. That zero can change to a one real quick. [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan The Celtics made a statement with a 92-85 win over the Pistons in Detroit. This win avenges the Dec 19 loss to the Pistons in Boston. It was all it was built up to be with 12 lead changes and 16 ties. There were 6 technicals called and blood drawn as Rondo received a cut over his eye early in the first quarter. This was a big game historically speaking as well. There have only been two regular season games since the 1954-55 season when the shot clock was adopted where two teams have had better combined winning percentages after at least 30 games than the Celtics and the Pistons had coming into this game. They brought a combined winning percentage of .844 into the game. One game where the combined winning percentage was higher than this game was in 1966 when th... [read the full post]
Youth versus Veterans

By FLCeltsFan Another area that you can see the difference between young teams and veteran teams, and this may be the most important, is on the defensive end. It takes time for most players coming into the league to learn to play NBA defense. Some players, like Rondo, who have made defense their calling card throughout their careers in high school and college take to it easier, but even Rondo has lapses and needs to still work on his defense to make it better. Most players coming into the NBA take years to finally figure out the nuances of the NBA defensive game. If you recall, that was always the question about Al Jefferson. He had a great offensive game but struggled to learn the defenses. Discuss this topic on the Celtics Green Forums!] [read the full post]
