By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Celtics are putting on a clinic Boston lead the bench points at the half 21 - 6. I just still don't believe Boston is that much better than this team....I really don't.... You know what's revealing? The Big Three didn't do jack. Rondo and their role players punked the Pistons again.

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) I think the Celtics defense has a lot to do with this. The Pistons still haven't found an offensive answer. The game can be summed up in a nutshell: Celtics are getting lay-ups (due to zero interior Piston defense) and Pistons can't buy a hoop. Because of the Celtics interior defense.

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Not everyone is chomping at the bit for a big payday overseas. Will Bynum left lucrative offers overseas for a shot at making it to an NBA team. He played with the Pistons summer league team hoping to stick with the team as their No. 3 point guard. Bynum's gamble paid off and has agreed to a multi-year deal with Detroit. Bynum was signed by the Celtics in 2005 after he played with their summer league team. It was Bynum's signing that he and Tony Allen were celebrating when Tony was charged with assault in that night club shooting. The first of the Pistons' three second-round picks in last month's NBA draft, Walter Sharpe, is expected to sign a two-year deal as well.   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Celtics are the Eastern Conference Champions and will face the Lakers in their first finals appearance since 1987. This team that started the season with 9 new players and plenty of doubters is still silencing the critics as they closed out the Pistons in a come from behind victory on the road. Now they get a much needed rest before the Finals start on June 5. The Pistons had a big 3rd quarter, outscoring the Celtics 31-20. The refs were a factor the entire game, but in this quarter, they made one of the worst calls I have ever seen. Pierce got Hamilton in the air on a fake and then hit a 3 as Hamilton came down on him. Instead of calling a foul on Hamilton, they called an offensive foul on Pierce. It was a terrible call and instead of the Celtics getting 4 po...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Here are comments found around the Pistons' boards during game 6 against the Celtics. When the Pistons fans start talking about how bad the calls are against the Celtics, you know the officials are bad. You have to feel for the Pistons fans. Seems like lately, the Pistons have always been the bridesmaids and never the brides. I have a feeling changes are coming for that team, even if it is only a coaching change. I think the Pistons gave it their all, but the Celtics were just better this year. They owned the paint and played better defense overall. Even when they struggled, those two things bailed them out.   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Back to game 6 after the brief anti-Kobe tirade. The Pistons have never won the Eastern Conference Finals after being down 2-3. The Celtics are a perfect 29-0 in series that they have led 3-2. History is on the Celtics side. But then again, in this year's playoffs, the Pistons are 5-0 in games after a loss. We know they are going to come out fired up and are going to put pressure on the Celtics to try to disrupt them. It will come down to focus, intensity and defense. In every loss in these playoffs, the one constant is that the Celtics played half hearted. In the losses, they didn't bring their defense and they didn't bring their intensity. The Celtics have beaten themselves in every loss. If they play their game, play tough defense, move the ball, and be aggr...   [read the full post]

He is complaining about Detroit being more physical when his team was on the free throw line every three trips up the court. Twice the referees reversed calls that originally went against the Celtics. In the second quarter, Celtics coach Doc Rivers charged onto the court to argue a call with referee Danny Crawford. Crawford warned Rivers three times to back off -- no technical foul. In the third quarter, Crawford was across the court when Pistons coach Flip Saunders threw his arms down in protest of a call. By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Game 4 is a pivotal game. If the Celtics win, they have the Pistons down 3-1 and need only 1 more game to advance with 2 tries at home to get it. If the Pistons win, they are right back in it with the series tied 2-2. The Pistons are 4-0 in games after a loss in the playoffs. They are a veteran team but they also have a habit of letting up and not playing hard after big victories. They seem to feel that they can turn it on whenever they need to. We know they are going to come back with more intensity than they showed in game 3 and the Celtics must be ready and match it. We will see a lot more pressure from the Pistons' defense tonight and the Celtics have to be ready to beat it with their passing game. They can't dribble through that kind of pressure. IF the Pistons get this game.....they will be smelling blood in the water and kill Boston in Game 4. I can't see Boston winning this game though. Say a prayer or whatever you believe in that the Pistons won't do their typical "Letdown Game" after a big win My concern is the Celtics are just due to win one on the road. The Pistons need to win both home games to keep the advantage. They gotta keep the Celts role players down and limit the Big Three to outside shots I don't care if Boston is 0-6 on the road. That zero can change to a one real quick. Discuss this topic on the Celtics Green Forums!]   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) When I think back to the Celtics losses on the road in the first two series, most of them were lost by the Celtics and not won by the opponent. The Celtics didn't play their game in any of them. In fact, in the loss in game 2 in this series, the Celtics lost it rather than the Pistons winning it. The Celtics lost their focus and didn't play defense. This series is in the Celtics hands and is going go come down to their focus and intensity. If they play their game with the defense that got them here and stay focused and not let the Pistons defense take them out of their game on offense, the Celtics will win this. The Celtics need to keep their focus and intensity on both ends of the court and they will get a win in Detroit, regardless of what the Pistons do.   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Both teams shot 49% for the game. The Celtics won the battle of the boards 39-31. The Pistons shot 32 free throws to 25 for the Celtics and the Celtics turned the ball over 12 times to 9 for the Pistons. The Pistons picked up their defense and the Celtics struggled to get their offense going against it. On the other hand, the Celtics had big lapses in their defense and allowed way too many easy baskets. The Celtics walked the ball up the court and didn't pass the ball like they did in game 1. The Celtics must now do something they haven't been able to do in either of the first 2 series. They have to win on the road. They will have to get a better effort from their bench and they will have to tighten up their defense if they expect to win in Detroit. It's time for the Celt...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The question of rest vs rhythm was answered early. The Celtics came out strong and got off to an 8-0 lead before Billups hit a 3 to stop the run. The Pistons then went on an 8 point run of their own to give the Pistons their first lead at 13-12. The Celtics finished the quarter on a run to grab a 22-17 lead at the end of one. The Pistons shot just 37% in the quarter in part because of some rust on the game and in part because of the Celtics stifling defense. Perk was a beast right from the start, grabbing 8 rebounds in the first quarter. I am always amazed when fans call for a player to be injured. The Pistons got all the calls early as they had 10 more free throws at the half, but the Celtics got more calls late and it kind of evened out. The Pistons did shoot more free throws for the game though so the Pistons fans really can't cry too much. Boston has the tackiest fans in the East. Well props to Boston, they out-defended us tonight. By FLCeltsFan Just a few thoughts on this Friday before a very big game 6. The Celtics need to win this one. Yes, they lost two games in Atlanta where they in no way resembled the Celtics team we saw all season. They played no defense in those two games and looked old and slow. Then, they came back to Boston for game 5 and all was right again. They found their defense and once again looked like the Celtics we all know and love. Hopefully the good Celtics will show up and they will get the win tonight. The Pistons righted themselves and got a blowout in game 6 and the Celtics should do no less. By FLCeltsFan This was a good night. The Celtics beat the Sonics 111-82. The Sixers (who the Celtics just beat handily) beat the Pistons by 1. And the Spurs got blown out by the Hornets. Yes, it was a very good night as the Celtics now have their first 10 game win streak since the 1985-86 season. The Celtics defense was great in this one as they held the Sonics to 38% while hitting 51% themselves. Seattle is the best rebounding team in the league and they only out rebounded the Celtics by 1. The Celtics took good care of the ball, turning it over only 10 times while forcing the Sonics to turn it over 19 times. The Celtics had 42 points in the paint to 40 for the Sonics. By FLCeltsFan The Pistons' schedule is slightly more favorable than the Celtics'. The Celtics have 10 home games and 13 road games left. The Pistons have 13 home games and 8 road games. The Celtics have a tough 5 game road trip through Milwaukee, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas and New Orleans that will take a lot of focus to come out of it with more wins than losses. The Pistons don't have any extended road trips left. Since the Celtics are the front runners and have beaten many of the teams that they will face already, every game is a challenge. By FLCeltsFan The Good: The Pistons and Magic also lost last night so the Celtics didn't lose any ground in their lead in the East. After a 10 game winning streak, what are the odds that the Pistons would keep pace with the Celtics and lose two in a row? KG is working his way back into game shape and looked much better last night than he did in Denver. He played 32 minutes and finished with a double double of 17 points and 15 rebounds although he shot only 7-16. The Celtics were out-rebounded 49-37. The Celtics' bigs need to be more aggressive on the boards. There is no excuse for the to be out-rebounded. Rebounding is mostly desire and effort and the Celtics need to show more of that as a team.
