Opinion: General Hospital: Greg vs Jonathan

By mendie On the other hand I am so happy to have Jonathan back where he belongs. Some characters can be recast (Carly being the prime example) and the new portrayers will go on to make it their own. But as we all know some characters should never be recast. Can we really imagine anyone else but Robin McCullough playing Robin Scorpio or perhaps Anthony Geary playing Luke Spencer? Of course not. It boggles the mind to even contemplate the idea. I have always felt that Lucky was one of those characters because the original actor was so loved in the part that it was hard to imagine anyone else playing him. I can only hope that by bringing Jonathan back that all this Jason/Elizabeth nonsense goes by the wayside and that the fallout that deserves to happen wh... [read the full post]

By mendie Yes I am quite aware that Robin is now married to Patrick, but seeing as how Robin and Stone were the main reason I became a loyal fan of General Hospital I figured it was only fitting. Plus if the truth must be known I was getting bored with the standard pictures I have been using and wanted to ch...

Welcome to 2009, Serial Drama readers! We hope you had fabulous New Year's Eve celebrations. Did you drink chamgagne, like Jax and Carly did on General Hospital? No? Well, better luck next year! (You have to appreciate how committed GH is to failing on every single level.) We know many of you...

By Becca Not to pat myself on the back or anything, but I had predicted that General Hospital would win the best drama series Emmy, pretty much since the nominations came out. (You can never go wrong underestimating the taste and intellect of award show voters!) That may be why I haven't gone complet...

By Becca Do you sometimes wonder whether General Hospital is some kind of social experiment, in which we as viewers are being tested as to how much horribly crappy un-soapiness we can be subjected to without going postal and storming the studio? It seems like a risky strategy, but it makes far more...

By Becca Let's start with the biggest General Hospital news of late, the Daytime Emmy nominations. By Becca I still don't really care about this show, but once you got past the cheesy "special" effects early in the week, without a stupid and implausible serial killer reveal or any more homicides of legacy characters, this week didn't suck quite as much as many. I'm not interested enough to do a ful...

By Connie Phillips On July 12, 2007 the cable network Soapnet launched their much hyped spin-off of ABC's daytime drama General Hospital to the best rating the network had ever seen.
