June 25, 2007 Billie Joe Armstrong may just be one of the hardest working men in the music business. Pinhead Gunpowder, a side project led by the Green Day frontman, has set a release date for its first new music in five years. The group will issue a yet-to-be-titled EP on July 22nd. The disc will come on seven-inch vinyl and feature three new songs, tentatively titled “West Side Highway,” “On the Ave” and “The Anniversary Song.” The last Pinhead Gunpowder EP, a collection of singles called Compulsive Disclosure, came out in 2003. The band played some California shows in February, at which it premiered the new tunes and announced the upcoming EP.
