Welcome Back: James, Varejao Return, Hughes Scores 36 as Cavs Beat the Pacers
Everyone who penciled the Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic or Detroit Pistons into the NBA Finals better have some erasers or liquid paper handy. As LeBron James warned everyone last week, "Teams better get their wins against us now. They're trying to kill us and talk trash about us now because we have guys who are out but when we get our guys back it's going to be a different story." James is more than capable of delivering on those words--he's no Anthony Smith.

By mwells NEW YORK - I went over to the Knicks locker room to catch up with former Pacer Al Harrington before Wednesday's game. The Pacers didn't let the Knicks score at will, run and move the ball in the second half. T.J. Ford finally played a key role for the Pacers.

Dunleavy, your team needs you

By mwells THE HOUSE - The Pacers proved once again why they need Mike Dunleavy on Friday. Huh? You have to give former Pacer Jermaine O'Neal credit. He gave Roy Hibbert and Solomon Jones the business out there. Even O'Brien admitted that his young frontcourt players got "schooled" by O'Neal.

Opinion: "Fortuitous" Murphy Tip-In Lifts Pacers Over Lakers
Original at 20 Second Timeout
• Wed, Dec 3
By Doc319@yahoo.com (David Friedman) The "go figure" stat of the night is that two of the Pacers' seven wins have come against last year's NBA Finalists; the Pacers won their home opener 95-79 against the Boston Celtics. The Lakers swept the season series against the Pacers 2-0 last year and own a 51-19 advantage in the all-time series but they have not had much success at Conseco Fieldhouse, falling to 3-7 in that building. You may recall that two seasons ago the Lakers blew a nine point third quarter lead at Indiana in a 95-84 loss that Coach Jackson, tongue planted firmly in cheek, called "sad," saying, "They just got 'sad' tonight--'s-a-d,' you know what that is, right? Rebuilt Pacers Pound Celtics in Rousing Home Opener

By David Friedman(noreply@blogger.com) Danny Granger scored 20 points and T.J. Ford added 19 points and four assists while not committing a single turnover as the new look Indiana Pacers beat the Boston Celtics 95-79 in front of a raucous sellout crowd of 18,165 at Conseco Fieldhouse; the Pacers set a franchise record for fewest points allowed in a home opener. The Pacers were without the services of Mike Dunleavy--who started all 82 games for them last year--and they lost starting center Rasho Nesterovic to an ankle injury early in the fourth quarter when the Celtics were still within striking distance. The Celtics hurt themselves by committing 24 turnovers, shooting just 27-78 (.346) from the field and making just 21-35 (.600) free throws but--as Boston Coach Doc Rivers freely... That's Amare: Stoudemire Scores 42, Suns Outlast Pacers
Original at 20 Second Timeout

By David Friedman In the second quarter the Suns once again built a double digit lead and when Stoudemire's two free throws with 2:38 left made the score 66-51 it looked like Phoenix might be ahead by more than 20 by halftime. Instead, the Pacers outscored the Suns 13-3 down the stretch to remain very much in the ballgame. Stoudemire led both teams with 23 points and seven rebounds at intermission, while Nash had eight points and nine assists. O'Neal and Tinsley each scored 14 points for the Pacers. The Pacers enjoyed advantages in both rebounding (26-22) and points in the paint (36-26) and they held the Suns to 0-8 shooting from three point range (the Pacers finished the game with a 50-45 rebounding edge and a 58-46 points in the paint edge, with the 58 points bein...
