By noreply@blogger.com (Paul Levinson) Fine start of Life on Mars on ABC tonight, and you know that I'm going to review this American version of the British series here on Infinite Regress, since I watch everything I can get my hands on regarding time travel, including Journeyman, relevant episodes of Lost and Heroes, and Deja Vu, too. But unlike Journeyman and Quantum Leap, Life on Mars will be one continuing, over-arching story, with Sam from 2008 back in 1973. I'm glad to see this, since I thought both Journeyman and Quantum Leap gave too much attention to specific episode story lines, and not enough to the backbone of the plot (Journeyman improved greatly in this respect near the end). The Plot to Save Socrates more about The Plot to Save Socrates...   [read the full post]

There may be hope for Journeyman. Remember that JAG started at NBC and moved over to a real network when NBC cancelled it. It had a long run on CBS, was a success in syndication and spun off NCIS. SciFi could do worse than picking up Journeyman if NBC doesn't recover from their stupidity. As could U...

By Paul Levinson Tonight's Episode 10 of Journeyman was a wonderful, satisfying chapter, in many ways. Which brings us to Jack - the most satisfying development of all in tonight's episode. Jack has been edging closer in previous shows to believing Dan. Tonight Livia comes to see Jack in the present - because Dan needs his help - and that of course finally convinces Jack that his brother is not crazy, and is really time traveling.... By Paul Levinson Last night's episode was by far the best yet, and I've been pretty much saying that about every episode of Journeyman. It's one of my two-three favorite series now on television, and the best time travel series, ever. It keeps pushing the envelope - which, in time travel stories, means playing ever more dangerously with the paradoxes time travel inevitably engenders. Which brings me to our CONTEST: Here it is: I will send a free, autographed copy of my own time travel novel, The Plot to Save Socrates, to the first person who e-mails me at My reviews of other Journeyman episodes ... 1: NBC Quantum Leaps Into Journeyman ...2 ... 3 ... 4 ... 5 ... 6... 7 ... 8. By noreply@blogger.com (Dennis West) Topping off the hero sandwich that makes up just about the most perfect night of television is Journeyman on NBC, Mondays at 10:00 (PST).  At first, one might think that this is a re-imagining of the NBC show from years back, Quantum Leap. I’ll admit, it has it’s similarities, but the major an...

By Media Maven 2. Love interest-- Here is where I think Journeyman's most interesting conflict lies.  In the present, Dan has a beautiful wife (played by MILF  Gretchen Egolf) Katie, whom he loves.  In the past, where Dan often finds himself, he has the even more beautiful fiance Livia, played by Day Break's very own Moon Bloodgood.  According to what Dan believes, Livia died 8 years ago in a plane crash, so it's not as if they broke up on bad terms.  I'm sure he had a very difficult time in his life where he had to move on from Livia's death and consequently fell in love with Katie, who, from one trip to the past, looks as if she's always had her eye on Dan.  Can you imagine being faced with this conflict?  The two loves of your life, and you can be with them both within min...   [read the full post]

By Tony Figueroa Anyone who knows me knows that I love time travel stories. A couple of years ago I even attempted to write a pilot about a man who could travel through time. Original at Blogcritics external link    Tue, Sep 18

By Josh Lasser NBC's new time travel epic, Journeyman, is a show so overloaded with backstory that much of the time one spends watching the pilot is used deciphering the interactions rather than focusing on the show itself. This might be a more fruitful exercise if the romantic story arcs were not so clic...

By BuddyTV I'll admit it, I get nervous every time someone without  a significant science fiction pedigree enters the genre, particularly when it is a ‘hit maker' like Tim Kring (Heroes), or now the duo of Kevin Falls and Alex Graves, who both have Aaron Sorkin blood on them from their experience wit...
