By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 05.30 30 Rock 06.00 The Jury 07.00 Law And Order 08.00 House 12.00 Wings House. Season 5, Episode 9. "Last Resort" The hostage-siege episode. With Hugh Laurie and Zeljko Ivanek in the same room (and a gun between them, too) you expect it to be a truly superb episode with great performances. Not so. It's actually a pretty weak, kinda dumb storyline. And all the acting honors go to Olivia Wilde who blows the two guys off the screen for the majority of the episode. Olivia Wilde, however, made the episode worth watching. Thirteen starts off not caring about her life and - by the end - she is pleading not to be killed. Wilde brings the character (and the audience) on a wonderful journey and is the only thing worth caring about in this mess of an episode.   [read the full post]

By podcast@mail2tv.com (RikerDonegal) 30 Rock. Season 3, Episode 4. "Gavin Volure" Steve Martin guests in a hilarious outing. It's hard to pick highlights when every minute of the episode yielded about two, but I particularly loved Liz's idea of a relationship (basically lots of TV watching and 'no funny stuff'). The Tracy story was a winner, too, but the absolute highlight of the episode was Kenneth performing street theatre. That, alone, makes this episode of my favourites. Law And Order. Season 18, Episode 17. "Personae Non Grata" Law And Order normally doesn't make me laugh, but this episode had me laughing out loud all the way through. Why? Partly because the events of the story are so absurd and partly because the guest stars are fantastic.   [read the full post]

By RikerDonegal(podcast@mail2tv.com) Z Rock. Episode 5 The best episode so far. Very funny. This one has (almost) no jokes that are running on from earlier episodes and it has nothing to do with the world of Children's Birthday Parties. It's all about the life of rock band in New York City, it tells the story of one gig, it's very funny and it's what I assumed the series would be like every week when I first heard of it. There's a few other bits and bobs happening, but that's the essence of the episode. It's funny and gives the impression that the show has fully found it's legs. I keep thinking of the early episodes of Alias and how cool and mind-blowing they were.   [read the full post]
