By David Friedman(Doc319@yahoo.com) After conducting its standard video review of game footage, the NBA has ruled that LeBron James had nine rebounds, not 10, in his sensational performance at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday. The MSG scorekeeper incorrectly awarded a rebound to James that should have been credited to Ben Wallace. This is the second triple double by James that the NBA has rescinded; on April 1, 2006, James was initially credited with 47 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists in a 106-99 win over Miami but the NBA subsequently determined that the home scorekeeper had been too generous in awarding one of James' assists.   [read the full post]

Their starting power forward is Ben Wallace, who was the starting center for the Detroit Pistons when they won the 2004 NBA championship and lost in seven games in the 2005 NBA Finals. When the Pistons let him go to Chicago I said that they would have a hard time replacing his paint presence and would not likely make it back to the Finals, a prediction that has been correct so far. Several of the faces have changed in Cleveland--and things have not always gone smoothly since the big trade--but that tried and tested formula resulted in an 89-73 home victory over Detroit on Wednesday night. Consider these preseason predictions: The Sporting News picked the Pistons to make it to the Eastern Conference Finals, CBS Sports.com ranked the Pistons as the third best team in the East, David DuPree of USA Today also had the Pistons third and Sports Illustrated called Detroit the second best team in the East. In addition, most of the NBA analysts on ESPN, TNT and NBA TV generally offer nothing but praise for the Pistons, even though Detroit has failed to return to the Finals since the departures of Coach Larry Brown and center Ben Wallace.
