By Robert Benson(fonzie1957@charter.net) It was 1972 when he started working at Budget Tapes and Records in Denver. The poppy, rhythm and blues-inspired stylings of the Beatles and the Rolling Stones were giving way to bands such as Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin. The advent of FM radio allowed for longer, higher-quality broadcas...

Jones is an interesting case - he's the one member of Led Zeppelin who didn't make questionable career moves post-Zep by, for examples, dying tragically (John Bonham), playing in the Firm (Jimmy Page) or naming an album "Now & Zen" (Robert Plant).

To me, this album represents everything i love in music. Absolutley mindblowing vocals and screams by Robert Plant, fantastic axe work by Jimmy Page, great bass playing by John Paul Jones and mad drumming by Bonham. 5 Stars, one of my favourites. More about LED ZEPPELIN at Progarchives.com

Over The Hills And Far Away' is also a great song, more loved than 'D'yer Maker' even. The one thing about it though is that it shines so much more live in concert (the 'How The West Was Won' concert specifically, and after listening to it live, my interest on the studio release weakens greatly....

Starting off with a grimy hard rock tune is tolerable when it is so good. Oh, yeah, this is a pretty popular album, too! Go figure. And indeed, keeping with the tradition, Black Dog storms the gates, and kicks serious portions of ass. That riff is superb, and the whole song is a classic. Oh, if only...

Bron-Y-Aur Stomp is Led Zeppelin does dueling banjos. It starts off soft and works its way slowly faster and harder until it turns into a good foot stomping tune, with those old time vocals.
