On Life On Mars, Detective Sam Tyler had an accident in 2007 and was transported back to 1973. By Kate ABC has done it again - numerous sources are reporting the show has been cancelled by ABC - and apparently this has been done early to allow their cast to audition for other shows. Gretchen Mol apparently is up for a part in the new Witches of Eastwick series on ABC. Blah….but unlike Pushing Daisies where you will have to wait for the DVD to see the final episodes, Life on Mars will run through to the season end which will act as a series end. This is actually about the same number of total episodes that the UK series ran. In related news, BBC America will begin airing the sequel series to the original UK version of Life on Mars- Ashes to Ashes. Ashes stars LOM UK’s Phil Glennister once again as Gene Hunt- but this time it is the flashy early 80s as a female detective is thrown back in time. By Kate In case you have missed it- Life on Mars is back after their LONG winter break. Tonight’s episode was good fun. We are seeing the epis kind of out of order- tonight was apparently a look at what happened right after Sam was shot and hopped out of the hospital to go looking for trouble. A mystery is unraveling and his fellow detectives are in the middle of it. If you haven’t seen the last two episodes- you can catch them online at ABC.com- I wish they would just fold and put their stuff on HULU already….give in to the alien plot! I should have the new promo up tomorrow so stay tuned….I have embedded their widget in my video player so it will show up on Firefox. By Kate Why you should watch Life on Mars November 15th, 2008 By Kate Blake, ADMIN Multipleverses Life on Mars is moving to Wednesday nights this winter- and if you are not watching you should check it out! I loved the original BBC series and I have to admit I am eager each week to see what will happen next as this quirky cop drama set in the 1970s plays out on TV. One of the reasons I really like The Mentalist and Life are that those series are police dramas that rely on intuition more than DNA and sophisticated evidence. Life on Mars Update- Sneak Clip with Whoopi Goldberg November 4th, 2008 TV Guide is reporting this week in their shows on the bubble list that Life on Mars is one show with an uncertain future. The ratings have slid weekly from the time of the series premiere- maybe Whoopi Goldberg’s appearance on the show this week will help. It is hard to say though as they will be up against what may be the most anticipated prime-time return in recent years when Anthony Edwards returns to ER for a special cameo flashback appearance.
