By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Lakers Center Andrew Bynum has pronounced himself 100% healthy and ready for training camp. Bynum never got to play with Pau Gasol on the team and most Laker fans feel that the addition of a healthy Bynum will put them over the top. I am not sure that will make the difference as when the Celtics played them twice during the season, Perk had little trouble containing Bynum and had a couple of his best games going up against him. In the Athlon preview, they favor the Hornets to win the West and so they obviously feel that the addition of James Posey to the Hornets is more signifcant than the addition of Bynum to the Lakers. Bynum is running on the track, hitting the weights, and doing basketball drills, and he shows no signs of any lingering problems from his knee surgery. The Lakers expect him to be 100% by the opening of training camp in the end of September. Kupchak’s concern regarding Bynum’s health extends further than having him help the Lakers this season. It’s also a financial concern. The Lakers recently exercised a fourth-year contract option on Bynum, but his agent is seeking a maximum five-year, $80 million extension. Kupchak wants to wait and see how his young center plays after returning from the injury before committing that kind of money to him. Hearing that Bynum is looking... [read the full post]

Crawford started all 6 games for the Lakers Summer League team in Las Vegas this summer and averaged 11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 32.7 minutes. This gives the Lakers 16 players under contract. They plan to go into training camp with 18 and will be looking to bring in a couple more players on minimum contracts. Let's hope Big Baby works on diet and conditioning this summer. It has to be pretty surreal for Big Baby and Gabe Pruitt to have won a ring as rookies considering there are quite a few Hall of Famers who never won a ring. Ray Allen is one of the classiest guys in the NBA. He is just special. He played Sunday with his son in the hospital and that took a lot of focus on his part. By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Finally, there was the officiating in game 2. Phil and Kobe just couldn't stop whining about it during their press conference. If anyone could complain about the refs, it should be the Celtics. In their first two series, they shot 295 free throws compared to 416 for their opponents. At the same time, the Celtics was the more aggressive team, scoring more points in the paint than their opponents. Game 6 in Detroit was horribly officiated. That offensive call on Pierce was probably the worst call I have ever seen. But, the Celtics didn't complain about the disparity. They simply played harder and overcame the one sided calls.
