By Graeme McMillan But can anything really eclipse what may be Marvel's most eagerly-anticipated hardcover collection? No, not World War Hulk or X-Men: Manifest Destiny (although both are released tomorrow.) I'm talking about Secret Wars II, the seemingly-endless, seemingly-cocaine-fueled 1980s e...

By ComicList The issue starts out with Rogue in a lot of trouble in the Danger Room sequence. Her only absorbed personality, Mystique, begins to take over to help her get out of trouble. This part of the comic works well because of the flashback explaining how this all possible when Rogue went to Beast after having this happen with the Ms Marvel persona. The remainder of the comic is spent with Xavier unraveling the Danger Room’s purpose and plan while Rogue continues to struggle through the sequence that seems to have been made entirely to mess with her head and destroy her. Rogue has some great moments with the Mystique ghost in her head and Xavier has some brilliant dissection of the Danger Room’s simulation and ultimate goal. Their characters came out in t... By Travis Despite Warren running around in Secret Invasion: X-Men in his blue skin, the Beast acts like this is the first time anyone outside of X-Force has seen him in action as Archangel again. It’s rotten continuity, and on a team of telepaths and such, not very believable. Wolverine 71

X-Men Magneto Testament #3 REVIEW

By ComicList This comic centers squarely on the Holocaust. It’s graphic but not too vulgar. It paints as realistic of a picture as it can when dealing with a horrific historic event in a comic book. To be fair, this comic has little to do with the X-Men, heroes, capes, villains and super powers. It takes a major player and drops him, as a child, in the worst documented atrocities seen made against mankind in the twentieth century. This issue was disturbing but very good. This comic is for history buffs that might also like the X-Men. This story presents the Holocaust in a respectful manner and doesn’t try to turn into a super-hero thing at all. It’s a fantastic read that brings out emotions that many stories simply can not. [read the full post]
