NBC orders more Medium November 17th, 2008 By Kate Blake, admin MV The Hollywood Reporter reported last week that right after announcing that My Own Worst Enemy was being cancelled- the net ordered up more episodes of Patricia Arquette’s series Medium bringing the total episode order up to 19. This is a strong show of faith for the supernatural family drama. I am wondering if it will be returning to its Monday night time slot following Heroes? It has been shuffled around quite a bit- a return to Monday night with a solid series would help NBC shore up that night and should retain their Heroes audience. Part of the reason why NBC would be looking to order more episodes has to also be to help feed their international markets. Medium has been a global success for NBC which airs it on the SciFi Channel overseas. I have a wallpaper here from the SCI FI Channel in Australia which is the Australian broadcast home for the series. We should start getting some promotion for the new season starting up in December as they prepare for a new season launch in January or so. It is nice to see the network realizing that they do have a good property- one that perfomed well last winter when the writer’s strike was in full force and new scripted programming was minimal.
