Comments From the Other Side - Grizzlies
Here are comments found around the Grizzlies boards during their game with the Celtics. My heart goes out to the Grizzlies' fans. The Celtics are riding high right now, but I remember all too well the last 20 years when we were right there where they are. Unfortunately, they have Chris Wallace, who was responsible for some of Boston's woes, as their GM so it may not get better for them in the immediate future as seen by the fact that he already gave away their best player for nothing. Enjoy t...

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Philadelphia 76ers are already having some bad luck and the season hasn't even started. Their center Jason Smith tore the ACL in his left knee during an NBA-approved camp in Las Vegas. Smith, a second-year player out of Colorado State, averaged 4.5 points and 3.5 rebounds as a rookie. He averaged 18.6 points and 8.0 rebounds in five games in the Las Vegas summer league. The Celtics have several players who can give Smith some support and advice. We still have visions of Tony Allen writhing on the floor in pain after tearing his ACL in the 2006-07 season. They also have Leon Powe and Bill Walker who have both experienced an ACL tear and come back from it. [read the full post]

O.J. Mayo: Early Scouting Report

By noreply@blogger.com (David Friedman) The L.A. Lakers improved to 1-1 in Vegas Summer League play with an 85-76 win over the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night. The Grizzlies are now 2-1. Of course, team records are meaningless during the summer: what counts are the player development and player evaluations that are going on as teams get a first look at some of this year's draft picks and decide which players will fill out their rosters once the regular season begins. The Lakers closed the first half with more determination and aggressiveness than the Grizzlies and L.A. enjoyed a 40-30 halftime lead. "The Grizzlies have not responded," Jones said, adding that Conley should have pushed the ball more to create easier scoring opportunities because the Grizzlies are a young team that st... Ray and KG hit Milestones as Celtics Crush Grizzlies
Original at LOY's PLACE a celtics green
• Sat, Mar 8
By FLCeltsFan Right from the beginning of this game, it looked as through it was the Grizzlies who played last night and the Celtics who had 3 days off. The Celtics came out strong and never looked back. They led by 17 after one, 14 after two, 26 after three and won with a score of 119-89. For the second game in a row, Doc was able to keep the starters under 27 minutes. Even with limited minutes, KG and Ray Allen both hit milestones for their career as KG passed 20,000 points and Ray Allen passed 18,000 points. House filled in for Rondo when he went out with 3 quick fouls and had 8 points, 2 rebounds, 7 assists and 1 steal in 28 minutes. Tony Allen played well within the game and didn't seem to push things and finished with 9 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 steals. Sam Cassell... [read the full post]
