Miami Heat coach Erik Spoelstra defended his decision Wednesday to replace veteran Udonis Haslem with second-year player Michael Beasley as the starting power forward this season.

We all know the Heat absolutely, positively has to start Michael Beasley this season. And we all know it absolutely, positively has to start Beasley at the position he should play for the next decade, which despite months of experimenting elsewhere is power forward.

Apparently, the future is now for the Heat at power forward. Michael Beasley, the No. 2 overall pick in last year's draft, is in. Udonis Haslem, a starter the past five seasons and a defensive stalwart on Miami's 2006 championship team, is out.
