By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Shaun Livingston is still looking for a team willing to take a chance on signing him. He worked out for the Portland Trail Blazers and Minnesota Timberwolves in the past week. The Miami Heat are also very interested in signing the 6'7" point guard who is fighting his way back from a devastating injury. There have also been rumors that Danny Ainge is interested in Livingston, but I take those rather skeptically at this point with the admission from Ainge that he plans to bring Sam Cassell back. The Celtics will have plenty of point guards. He might consider a non guaranteed training camp contract like he gave Miles, but word is that Livingston is looking for a guaranteed contract and with 3 other teams interested, he will probably get it. The Blazer... [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Timberwolves young players are apparently very serious about the upcoming season. Ryan Gomes, Al Jefferson,Rashad McCants, Randy Foye, Rodney Carney, Corey Brewer, Chris Richard, Mike Miller, and Sebastian Telfair have been working out on a regular basis in preparation for the upcoming season. Though not actual practices, the players have been going through many of the same drills the team runs during the regular season, including some full court 5-on-5 action. I still miss Ryan Gomes and Big Al. Here is the daily defection to Europe report. German champion Alba Berlin has signed free agent guard Casey Jacobsen, who played for the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies last season. Jacobsen averaged two points per game last season with the Grizz... By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Brandon Roy is anxious to play basketball again. Six days after undergoing arthroscopic surgery to repair a torn meniscus in his left knee, Brandon Roy arrived at the Blazers' practice facility without crutches or any noticeable limp. He says that he will definitely be ready for training camp. Bill Walker had a similar surgery and has been working out in Boston since his surgery. The Celtics haven't signed him yet, but I think they will because Danny went out of his way to get him from Washington. I think he will be able to contribute this season if given the opportunity. By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Clippers re-signed unrestricted free-agent center Paul Davis, giving them three players named Davis on their roster. They lured Baron Davis away from the Warriors and signed former Celtic Ricky Davis as a free agent. Maybe they should go to first names on their jerseys instead of last. The only other Davis listed in the NBA.com players list is the Celtics' own Big Baby Davis. The Clipps seem enamored with players named Davis and I wonder what the chances are of the Clippers making a play for Big Baby. Paul Davis averaged 2.5. points and 2.1 rebounds in 22 games with the Clippers last year before a season-ending injury to his right knee Dec. 21. By FLCeltsFan A little Blurb on Twin Cities.com leads us to believe that all is not rosy in Celticland. Word in Boston is that the Celtics' Ray Allen was taken aback by some uncouth language used by Kevin Garnett during a practice, and he let the former Timberwolves star know about it. I really hope that there aren't petty arguments starting to pop up because hard feelings off the court could lead to problems on the court. It is something to watch, anyway. As for the 3 players left on the bubble, Wallace played 9 minutes and finished with a quiet 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. Manuel finished with 2 points and 1 rebound in 8 minutes and Jones had 2 points and 2 rebounds in 9 minutes. Of the 3, I expect Wallace to stick with the team and the other 2 to be cut in the near futur... [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan As for the former Celtics, word before the game was that Al and Green were doubtful because of ankle injuries. Neither started but both did play. Telfair started and had a solid performance with 9 points, 2 rebounds, and 3 assists. Ricky Davis was on fire to start the game but cooled off in the second half. He finished with 18 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists and 1 steal. Gomes was the solid player we all grew to love. Nothing spectacular but a very solid 9 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist. Big Al came off the bench to score 5 points with 6 rebounds, 1 assist, and 2 blocks in 24 minutes. I really feel for Al. He loved being a Celtic and never wanted to be traded. I can't help but hope that maybe things won't work out for an extension in Minny and he will be able to come back t... [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan Then, ESPN.com was reporting that the Lakers and Wolves were in talks about Garnett to LA and that a possible 4th team could be involved. The Los Angeles Times cited league sources on Monday saying that the Lakers and Minnesota Timberwolves are in discussions that could bring Kevin Garnett to Los Angeles. The Wolves send Kevin Garnett and Marko Jaric to the Lakers. The Celtics send the No. 5 pick, Theo Ratliff, Gerald Green and Sebastian Telfair to Minnesota. he Lakers are now back to direct two-team talks with the Timberwolves. However, sources say, Minnesota General Manager Kevin McHale wants young players and high draft choices and isn't keen on the Lakers' offer of Andrew Bynum, who is young (19), and Lamar Odom (27), who isn't.
