The first speaker is not even a Republican. No Republican congressional leaders are speaking. Few current office-holders. Fewer Republican candidates. Many formers. The list is heavy with McCain endorsees and friends. Few ideologues. No Gov. Mark Sanford. No Sen. John Thune. Sen. John McCain.

Well, it's been quite some time since I spoke about Mike Huckabee in this space, but he's bound and determined to speak for all evangelicals by saying we don't want McCain to select Gov. Romney for the Veep slot. Well, let's hope Sen. McCain can give us another chance.
