Why Brock Lesnar is Good for the MMA
Original at Bleacher Report
• Fri, Oct 10
By Shane Xander Yes, there are gifted athletes in MMA, such as Randy Couture. As far as I can recall, he was an Olympic wrestler, but the point is that due to it's limited exposure, the skill MMA has attracted, likewise, has been limited. This brings us, in a roundabout kinda way, to Brock's controversial tit...
Bobby Lashley Joins American Top Team
Original at The MMA News
• Thu, Oct 9
By Chart Topper Lashley has some considerable buzz around him, as his size and wrestling background lends itself well to MMA fighting. Some MMA fans are already hoping for a matchup between Lashley and Lesnar who both are extremely large and athletic men. That fight might not happen for some time as Lashley is signed with the AFL. Heavyweight MMA newcomer and former WWE superstar Bobby Lashley has joined American Top Team. Here’s the quote from American Top Team, via the Underground forum: “Bobby started training with us a week ago and decided this is where he needed to be to take the next step in his burgeoning MMA career. WWE’S Jim Ross On Couture Vs. Lesnar.
Original at The MMA News
• Sat, Oct 4
By Chart Topper “I am counting down the days until the Lesnar-Couture UFC showdown in Las Vegas on November 15 which just happens to be a “off week” for OU Football. I am told that the lesser priced tickets sold immediately but that many high dollar tickets are still available. MMA fans seemingly are split on who’s going to win this one. Unless Lesnar makes a fatal mistake, I see Brock, who will tip the Toledo’s at around 280 when the referee says “Let’s Fight!”, winning as of today but I have to admit that I vacillate on this matter all the time. Not knowing who is going to win because both fighters have great skills is what makes for such a superb attraction. I would love to see this fight in person.” J.R. is well known by WWE fans for his voice and his views. He recently took t... [read the full post]

Opinion: Top 5 Reasons Why Mirko Cro Cop WILL Be a UFC Champ
Original at Bleacher Report

By Kevin Curran Mirko has stopped world class wrestlers like Mark Coleman with his sprawl and this tells me that he might be able to sprawl on someone like Lesnar or Couture. I know I'll hear it for that one with comments like, "Coleman is no Couture!", but at one point, Coleman was better than Couture. Also, i...

MMA Quotes: Brock Lesnar.

By Chart Topper Q: Watching the Ultimate Fighter series definitely gives U.F.C fans an inside view of how childish many of the young fighters are. I call them punks. In your experience with the U.F.C., what percentage of the fighters still have this “punk” mentality? Q: Why do U.F.C. fighters seem to have better sportsmanship (i.e., hugging each other after a fight) while other televised fighters (W.W.E.) have little or no sportsmanship and turn the fight into a soap opera? A: Because U.F.C. fighters are really fighting and professional wrestlers are entertaining. After you fight somebody, in most cases there is a certain mutual respect. [read the full post]
Humble Pie Alert: Brock Lesnar vs. Heath Herring Edition

By Luke Thomas So I must confess to being wrong in my forecasting of the Lesnar vs. Herring bout and about Brock Lesnar in general. Brock Lesnar’s Next Opponent May Be Cheick Kongo.
Original at The MMA News
• Mon, Aug 11
By Chart Topper Lesnar dominated his match against gate keeper Heath Herring but his after fight antics earned him little in the way of fan respect. Still the super-heavyweight is more than capable of having a solid fight against the strong striking Cheick Kongo. Kongo also won his undercard match, finishing near the end of round 1 to earn the TKO win. will bring you all the latest on rumors from UFC, and you can check out The MMA Forums by clicking here. The MMA News first thought that the idea of a fight between Cheick Kongo and Brock Lesnar would not only be a good matchup between two “moving up” heavyweights but that it would be a large gate draw as well.(click here for The MMA News article) Now Steve Cofield from Yahoo!Sports is reporting [...] [read the full post]

Lesnar Needs To Focus On The Fight, Not The Talk.
Original at The MMA News
• Wed, Aug 6
By Chart Topper Brock Lesnar can be forgiven for seeming focused on his task at hand, that of defeating Heath Herring in their upcoming fight at UFC 87. One can forgive him for his first loss to now #1 heavyweight contender Frank Mir but one has a hard time forgiving him for the constant trash talk that seems to be a part of his MMA persona. Lesnar, quite simply, should save the trash talk for when he actually wins his first fight in the UFC. On Kimbo Slice: “I see Kimbo as CBS and EliteXC’s marketing tool, you know? UFC promotes fighters, you know, and in return, they become superstars. So Kimbo’s a name and a guy with…Kimbo showed his true self in his last fight against, um, I don’t even know who he fought, that’s how popular it was.” [read the full post]
Brock Lesnar Hasn’t Written Off Professional Wrestling.
Original at The MMA News
• Mon, Aug 4
By Chart Topper Lesnar’s potential is huge, but this fight is certainly a bigger one for him than for opponent Herring. If Herring wins then Lesnar’s UFC career could actually be in jepardy(though the UFC would more than likely give him another chance), but if Lesnar wins Herring continues his career having fought and lost against a highly talented, and highly pushed fighter. While Lesnar’s statement isn’t indicitive of any future moves, he obviously hasn’t written professional wrestling off completely. This Saturday, at UFC 87, Lesnar will help himself to cement his career into MMA permanently, or open up further questions about his future. [read the full post]
