The five-round unanimous decision victory, one that has stirred a lot of controversy within the MMA community, was awarded to the current UFC champion Lyoto Machida. Silva also calls for a change in the way mixed martial arts bouts are judged. The Brazilian used his recent unanimous decision loss to Rich Franklin at UFC 99 as an example of poor judging, a fight he thought he had won.
