By rss@youtube.com (1EDmanLV) SAN ANTONIO(AP) If Tim Duncan threw down more dunks, he says he might better understand why NBA fans have made him an All-Star starter for 10 consecutive seasons. The New Jersey Nets probably know why. The slumping Nets scraped and matched San Antonio nearly shot-for-shot throughout a ten...

Rate Opinion: Beautifully Ugly (Warriors 105, Nets 97)

Original at San Jose Mercury News external link    Sat, Nov 1

By Adam Lauridsen Saturday’s game was only available on NBA League Pass, but those who missed it were spared some of the NBA’s ugliest basketball in the first half.  The Warriors relied primarily on put backs, broken plays and trips to the foul line to claw their way to 52 points.  You can blame some of the uglin...

By Lang Whitaker Vince came in so reliant on dunks and high-flying action, but once his body turned brittle and that threat in his game was removed, Vince didn’t have anything else to rely on. By FLCeltsFan It is interesting to see the differences between the Athlon preview and this one. While both see the Celtics second to the Nets in the division and don't see the Celtics getting to the conference finals, Athlon sees the Heat finishing out of the playoffs and CBS see them going to the NBA Finals. Both see Phoenix winning it all this season. They ask if Pierce, Allen and Garnett make the Celtics the team to beat in the East. Here is part of their answer: But the other top teams in the East have something the Celtics don't: a solid bench. Players like Leon Powe, Tony Allen, and Brian Scalabrine aren't exactly scaring anybody. And that could be the difference when the playoffs arrive.
