Rate 2008-09 Eastern Conference Preview

Original at 20 Second Timeout external link    Wed, Oct 15

By David Friedman(noreply@blogger.com) Most people seem to expect Indiana to be terrible this year but the Pacers only missed the playoffs by one game. They sent Jermaine O'Neal to Toronto in exchange for T.J. Ford, a point guard who will be able to push the ball up the court and feed the team's many three point shooters. I think that the Pacers will surprise a lot of people but in the end they will probably once again fall just short of the playoffs. The New York Knicks will almost certainly improve now that Donnie Walsh and Mike D'Antoni are running the show but there is no reason to believe that even in the Eastern Conference they can leap frog enough teams to make the playoffs.   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The fact that the Knicks are over the maximum number of players allowed hasn't stopped Allan Houston from trying to make a comeback with the team. The 37-year-old former All-Star shooting guard has been working out and playing all summer and, according to multiple sources, Houston has spoken with Donnie Walsh about an invite to training camp later this month. The Knicks have an interest in Houston if he shows he can still shoot it like he used to and Walsh is believed to have an interest in including Houston in something on the basketball operations side of the business if he isn't able to make the roster. By FLCeltsFan Here are comments found around the Knicks boards during their game with the Celtics. As much as I dislike the Knicks, you have to feel for their fans. One day the Isiah reign of terror will be looked back on like the Pitino years in Boston. They have a good man in Walsh who can pull them out of it so that's a start. The fact that this team just lost to the Celtics bench is EXACTLY why people root for them to lose. They suck and deserve to lose, its that simple. How can you root for a team to win that cant even beat a Celtics bench? Last years draft reeks of a fix. It was Stern's middle finger to tankers.
