By Brad Curran Not even Sean and Brandon for that great strip about why I can't be bothered to care about Daredevil. I made a shrine for him. I don't know what he looks like, so I just burned some issues of Secret Invasion in front of my Nathan Fillion shrine, but hey, it's the thought that counts, right?

By snell(noreply@blogger.com) Fair is fair, so I should acknowledge that, whatever else its flaws, Skrullapalooza was largely on time. There's certainly some utility, some virtue in actually bringing out a "spine" event for your entire universe in a timely manner. For comparison, we got 8 issues of Secret Invasion in t...

5. Hulk Family Green Genes #1 4. Wolverine: Manifest Destiny #2 of 4 3. Secret Invasion #8 of 8 2. Cable #9 1. Batman #682 I also picked up Astounding Wolf-Man, but can’t give it a fair review until I’ve read a little primer in issue #9 and the Image Monster Pile-Up. I passed on Hellboy mostly because I missed the Darkness arc and I passed on the Iron-Man, Hulk and Nick Fury one shot. 5. Hulk Family Green Genes #1 4. Wolverine: Manifest Destiny #2 of 4 3. By Bodog(noreply@blogger.com) Mighty Avengers #18 But I keep waiting for it to catch up to the current invasion. It almost seems like Marvel should have lumped a couple of more tie-in titles to deal with this stuff like Secret Invasion: Secret Warriors or Secret Invasion: Battle Plans.

By mike@mikeromo.com As we get close to the end, I think we see a bit of how these books are going to be judged in the years to come. Secret Invasion is just another big team up comic book with comic book characters, themes and stakes. Final Crisis is a comic book that is seems to be trying to be more thoughtful, more emot...

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Synopsis: We begin with the Secret Avengers, Mighty Avengers, Young Avengers, Fantastic Four, Thunderbolts, Nick Fury and the new Howling Commandos and the Hood and his goons all united together and battling the Skrull super soldiers. The Skrull Queen orders her solider to target Reed Richards. In turn, Captain America orders the heroes to target the Skrull Queen. The plotting on Secret Invasion #7 also suffers from a lack of internal logic. In Secret Invasion #5 we see Skrully Jarvis getting blown up aboard the SHIELD Helicarrier that was located in the Bermuda Triangle. And it is my impression that not much time elapses between the end of Secret Invasion #5 and the beginning of Secret Invasion #7. [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Thor asks Captain America “Who are you supposed to be?” Captain America shoots back “Who do I look like?” The Avengers then land their ship and come pouring out and gather around Thor. Thor says that he is summoning the battle that must be fought. Nick Fury responds that his god has a hammer. (Snappy.) Iron Man then yells out “Avengers Assemble!” (Damn, that felt good!) Our heroes then charge into combat with the Skrulls. End of issue. Having said that, if you have enjoyed what Bendis has been doing for the past couple of years on New Avengers then you will probably enjoy Secret Invasion #6. And if you have been having fun reading Secret Invasion up to this point then you will probably also like Secret Invasion #6. [read the full post]

Comic Book Review: Mighty Avengers #13: Secret Invasion

By noreply@blogger.com (Rokk Krinn) Synopsis: We begin with a flashback scene from six months ago. We see Nick Fury meeting with Daisy Johnson at a park bench. Nick is using a disguise that makes him look like the Ultimate universe Nick Fury. (This joke is getting a bit old.) Daisy is still a bit resentful about the secret war that Nick Fury led her and a bunch of other SHIELD agents on in Latveria. That secret raid cost Daisy her job with SHIELD. Comments The Good: Mighty Avengers #13 was another good read. Bendis is doing an impressive job with these Secret Invasion tie-in issues. They are better than what we are getting on Secret Invasion itself. I am completely fascinated with learning what Nick Fury has been up to trying to get ready to deal with the Skrull invasion.
