The Orlando Magic signed Matt Barnes primarily because he should help as a defender and rebounder. But Coach Stan Van Gundy has said the 6-foot-7 small forward also could assume one of the roles that made Hedo Turkoglu so valuable: as an inbounds passer late in games.

Hedo Turkoglu had a career year and won the Most Improved Player award. Rashard Lewis may not be quite worth the huge contract Orlando gave him but he was a very productive third scoring option whose three point shooting helped to space the floor.
