The actual final ever Prison Break.

Remember this will be a SPOILER review.

You might be saying to yourself, why am I reviewing new Prison Break when the show has officially ended?  Well if you’ve seen the PB finale, you’ll know at the end it flashforwards four years and we find out Michael is dead.  This special TV movie fills us in on the circumstances of his demise.

The “TV movie” picks up shortly after Michael and co. get exonerated.  Michael and Sara get married in a very simple ceremony on the beach.  While celebrating Sara is arrested for the murder of Christina and is sent to a women’s prison.  She is looking at life in jail so Michael decides to do what he loves most and break Sara out of prison.

While in prison, Sara comes across Gretchen and a women known as “daddy” who is the queen bitch of the place, who has a wife and children, children being other women who she looks after.  Daddy welcomes Sara into her family and Sara agrees because it’s the only way she’ll be safe.  See General Krantz is locked up in the male Miami prison and with the help of T-Bag orders a hit out on Sara.

The FBI have a feeling that Michael might be trying to come up with a way to break out Sara so they offer Alex his job back if he spies on Michael and relays info back to them.  At first he agrees but does the right thing and changes his mind.  Alex has been a favourite character of mine and to see the change in his character over the show has been great.  He’s the one that’s changed the most and for the better.

The real point of this special is to find out how Michael died and he didn’t die from his illness.  He sacrificed himself to help Sara escape and this outcome was getting more and more likely as the show went on.  Though we find out that he would have died from his illness so the sacrifice was just.  It was a sad scene, I knew Michael was dead but the way he went was how a hero should go.  I was never the biggest Michael fan, I find that he lacks charisma for a hero but he was hero, he was the main character of the show.

Geeky Thoughts:-

Even though this isn’t my quote of the episode, I still have to mention it, General Krantz saying “If I had a list of all the people that might come to visit me, your name would be at the bottom.  Somewhere below Jesus Christ and Scooby Doo.”  Krantz was hilarious in that scene with Michael.  It’s good to find out he has a funny side. This reminded me too much of Bad Girls, which is a British show about a women’s prison.  The scene in which the women gets impaled on the hook is a prime example of what you’d find in that show.

More from GEEKY TALK:

Dare I say it but this special was better than most things in season 4.  I was heavily entertained and it brought back memories of the first season.  I remember ages ago that they were going to do a spin-off set in a women’s prison, if it was like this then I would have watched.  The series finale was very disappointing but this serves as a better exit for the show.

Quote of the episode: Michael “We’re free now…finally.  We’re free.”

Favourite Scene: The video recording of Michael.
