By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Celtics streak is history. They can't win in this building. They lost all 3 in the playoffs and the Hawks are better while the Celtics got worst without posey or brown. we got this one! How many Phantom Fouls calls will Pierce get tonight?

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Oklahoma City Thunder (formerly the Seattle Supersonics) are in the news for several reasons. First, the franchise set sales records for Thunder merchandise in the first 24 hours after the team announced the nickname. This isn't surprising since every Sonics fan and every new OKC fan had to get all new shirts, jerseys, etc since none was in existence before this. Second, the Ford Center where the Thunder will play is getting a new floor for the new franchise. The same company that constructed the Boston Celtics' famed parquet floor, has built a new court that will be used by the Oklahoma City Thunder. The 6,720-square foot maple court, built to NBA specifications is expected to be delivered by October 20 and ready for the team's season ope...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The Los Angeles Lakers have signed their second round draft pick, guard Joe Crawford. He was selected by the Lakers with the 58th pick in the 2008 NBA Draft after playing 4 seasons at the University of Kentucky. He averaged 11.3 points, 3.4 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 127 games for the Wildcats. Crawford started all 6 games for the Lakers Summer League team in Las Vegas this summer and averaged 11.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists in 32.7 minutes. This gives the Lakers 16 players under contract. They plan to go into training camp with 18 and will be looking to bring in a couple more players on minimum contracts. One player they have considered is Shaun Livingston but the Warriors are also considering signing him now that Monta Ellis will be out for at lea...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Delonte West has proved that he can play in the league but he has also been plagued with assorted injuries in his career. I mean, how many players get sidelined with a toe infection? Much of what fuels his injuries is his way of playing all out all the time as he throws his body into bigger players. He is a tough player and deserves better than what teams have done with him. He was key to getting Ray Allen in Boston, but the Sonics didn't give Delonte a chance. Then he finally got a chance to play in Cleveland and did so admirably, but they have pretty much thrown him by the wayside, giving their back up point guard a bigger contract than they offered him. Delonte should take the qualifying offer and see what he can get next season on the open market. I would lov...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) Things are still pretty ugly between Seattle and Oklahoma City. The newest challenge comes from the Sonics' fans who want free tickets for the next two seasons of basketball at the Ford Center. The Sonics had made a promise to their season ticket holders to promise to provide tickets for the same guaranteed price at Key Arena through the 2009-10 season. The season ticket holders have been offered tickets at the same price in OKC, but they have presented a case that travel from Seattle to Oklahoma City would cost more than the tickets so they want the tickets free. They also want additional monetary damages paid because their costs to attend the games cannot be adequately covered by the provision of free season tickets. Good luck...   [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (FLCeltsFan) The NBA’s Web site all but confirmed Thunder would be the nickname of Oklahoma City’s NBA team when they released the schedule on Wednesday morning. At first, NBA.com linked to a page that listed the “Oklahoma City Thunder schedule” but by Wednesday afternoon, all mentions of Thunder were removed. Now that the cat's out of the bag, it's about time they make the announcement and make it official. The Lakers and Chinese point guard Sun Yue have agreed to terms on a two-season contract, the team confirmed Thursday. Sun is known as the Chinese Magic Johnson because of his eye-catching playmaking ability and will face his future teammate Kobe Bryant when China plays the United States on Sunday in Team USA's opening game. Sun will compete with start...   [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan All 12 Celtics played and scored in this game. The scoring was spread out with 5 players in double figures. Ray and KG were the high scorers with 18 each. Ray's shot was right on as he hit 8-10 shots. Pierce had 14 points but also did a little of everything with 5 rebounds, 11 assists, 2 steals and a block. I would say that the highlight of the game was a 360 dunk on a fast break by Rondo. The Celtics defense was great in this one as they held the Sonics to 38% while hitting 51% themselves. Seattle is the best rebounding team in the league and they only out rebounded the Celtics by 1. The Celtics took good care of the ball, turning it over only 10 times while forcing the Sonics to turn it over 19 times. The Celtics had 42 points in the paint to 40 for the Sonics. The only fla...   [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan I see the Sonics winning this game. Boston is going to rest their starters players and play their back ups most of the game. It's a given the Sonics will lose by a lot this game, so I'm going to be focussing on individual matchups to see how certain players respond to a challenge. NBA Finals preview, anyone? Oh, man, Ray Allen just killed Durant with an eye fake. I don't understand the hype of having Sam Cassels as a guard for any team at his age. It would be like having Gary Payton at age 60, starting. Nostalgia doesn't win rings. The guy was great in his early years. But he offers no advantage that rookies and younger players haven't already given this team. How does he fit in? In my opinion it was a senseless waste of money.   [read the full post]

Rate Celtics Triumphant in Ray's Return to Seattle

By FLCeltsFan In an emotional game where Delonte and Wally starred against their former team and Ray Allen returned to Seattle for the first time since the draft night trade that sent him to Boston, the Celtics prevailed 104-96. It was the second of back to back games on the road and the Celtics showed some fatigue at times, but they were able to pull out the win at the end. Whenever the Celtics would pull ahead, the Sonics would come right back, often behind the play of two former Celtics. At the end of the first quarter, Delonte hit a 3 to pull the Sonics to within 5 at 24-19. Perk had a strong first period with 6 points, 4 rebounds, 1 block and 1 assist in the quarter. Midway through the second period, the Sonics tied the game at 32 behind a 3 by Wally. They tied it again at 3...   [read the full post]

By FLCeltsFan This morning, the Herald covered the Lakers, the Sonics and the Chinese team, but still no Celtics news. The Globe has a piece on video games and athletes but again, no Celtics news. No news on who Danny is talking to about trades, no news on Tony's rehab, no news on who is in Boston working out. Nothing. This news block out is nerve wracking. The Wizards are shopping a package that would include Navarro and a salary dump. Haywood or Thomas could be part of the package. The Heat are interested and I hope Danny is checking into it. Our own Q has his blog going again and discusses 3 things that the Celtics need to go right. Boston Sports Review discusses the draft night deal for Ray Allen and 16 fateful words.   [read the full post]
