Aw, Japan gets all the fun stuff. Square-Enix has just revealed the special "Lightning-themed PS3;" it's pink and white and comes with a 250GB HDD!

Strangely enough, Square-Enix will keep this "hidden menu option" from the prying eyes of the public at this week's Tokyo Game Show. But why...?

Square-Enix has confirmed the Japanese launch date leaked a few days ago, and it has also been revealed that a PS3 bundle is "planned." Give us the US date!

PAL release timing still under wraps, SE Europe tells CVG. Following the announcement of Final Fantasy XIII's Japanese release date this morning (it's December 17, by the way) Square Enix Europe has issued CVG the following statement on the European release:

An online advertisement has revealed something very, very big: the Japanese launch date for FFXIII! Square-Enix promised to deliver it this year, and...

Although it's still a good ways off, anticipatory fans will be happy to know that Square-Enix is moving faster with Versus than they did with FFXIII.

But Square Enix still "undecided" on whether it's going to release it. An English demo of Final Fantasy XIII would be "completely new" and separate from the already-released Japanese version... but Square Enix doesn't know if it's going to bother releasing it.

Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada has confirmed that we'll see a Japanese launch date for Final Fantasy XIII "in several weeks," and it'll be in 2009.
