In 1926, in Game 4 of the World Series, Yankee outfielder Babe Ruth hit three home runs in a 10-5 victory over the Cardinals.

In 1978, the Yankees won Game 3 of the ALCS, beating the KC Royals, 6-5, in spite of three solo home runs by KC third baseman George Brett off Yankees’ ace Catfish Hunter.
