Supergirl goes with her mother. The issue wraps up with a look around at those that remain. Superman still mourns the death of Pa Kent. Brainiac seems to be functioning. By ComicList Any signs yet of the financial crisis affecting the periodical direct market in October? No, not really. Thanks to several high-profile books that weren’t published in September coming out again, DC Comics’ average periodical sales jumped back up, as expected. The publisher’s DC Universe line continued to be dominated by the blockbuster events Final Crisis and “Batman RIP” and their numerous spin-off and tie-in titles. In other news, Pa Kent died, Supergirl got another new creative team and Superman kicked off the “New Krypton” crossover, with modest results. In terms of new launches, there were Terror Titans, Vixen and, um, Superman & Batman vs. Vampires & Werewolves, none of which charted very highly, unsurprisingly. Bri... [read the full post]

By noreply@blogger.com (Thom Kallor) Since last week's episode of Smallville featured the teamup of Clark and Supergirl, I thought it would be fitting to review the first issue of the new Superman/Supergirl mini-series. The Smallville episode was good, I hope that this story is as good. When Supergirl looks up, more cars are being thrown at her. Supergirl bats them aside and demands to know who is doing this. Maelstrom is standing in the middle of the road. She wants Superman. Supergirl attacks her. Maelstrom beats up Supergirl. A battered Supergirl pulls herself from the wreckage. She wants to help the survivors. Superman has already helped them. She collapses. Superman picks her up and flies off. He is going to do what he should have done a long time ago. [read the full post]
