Happy Supernatural Thursday, everyone! But man, how depressing is it to know that it's our last new episode until January 14, 2010?? Argh! And tonight's episode promises to be HUGE, ensuring that we'll be driven crazy for a month and a half. Thanks, Kripke! :-)

Up in Vancouver, during the autograph line, I showed Jensen my credit card that had a picture of the Impala on it and he got a total kick out of it, so in Chicago I brought with me my old credit card to show Jared, that has a picture of Sam and Dean on it. (you can see it HERE)

Well, my excitement at SPN's ratings finally taking a nice upswing were short lived. The final numbers were released and it showed Supernatural dropping from 2.63 million down to 2.58 million, allowing Smallville to beat us for the first time, with 2.62 million.

I was happy to see a straight up Monster of the Week episode. We've been hit on the head with the angels and demons and Apocalypse for a long time now. But unfortunately it wasn't the strongest of episodes, by far. I was a little bit bored by it. By the ghost aspect of it.

As for Supernatural, two fan favorites are going to die this season during this season, in the same episode Sam and Dean fight Lucifer. Or it could be Eric screwing with us and it turns out it's Sam and Dean who die, only to be brought back to life once again. Eric did say God would be playing a part...

It stands to reason that a Supernatural season built around a looming apocalypse would feature a guest turn by Paris Hilton. But series creator Eric Kripke says the casting stunt — airing next Thursday — doesn’t herald the end of the world as we know it.

Two brothers, Sam and Dean Winchester (Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles), would go from city to city in their 1967 Impala and hunt these otherworldly critters down, frequently quipping along the way.

SpoilerTV lists the episode as... Are You There, God? It's Me, Sam Winchester" is the title of episode 5x08. Anyone else kinda disappointed they're pretty much recycling episode titles? Sounds like it's Sam's turn to have a crisis of faith, eh? free web hit counter

Unit sales and revenue were both way up for Supernatural: its fourth season DVD set sold 238,081 units and earned an estimated $8.7 million.  Last year in its first week of release the season three DVD set sold 104,979 units with estimated revenue of $4.1 million.

The countdown has begun! :-) The rollout continues Sept. 9 with the two-hour preem of "America's Next Top Model," followed Sept. 10 by the preem of "Vampire Diaries" and return of "Supernatural."

And it might just be me, but after this season I'm done with the end of the world, Apocalypse storyline. I've just grown weary of the constant angels vs. demons stuff. I really hope Kripke wraps this up at the very beginning of season five and we can move on to a different season arc.
