"Monster Movie" A black and white episode finds Dean and Sam facing a vampire, a werewolf and a mummy. All in the style of old-time Universal Monster movies. An enjoyable change-of-pace episode, after the heavy duty stories that opened the season. Back in Season One, Supernatural stumbled when it tried to do comedy episodes, but at this stage in the game the show has no problem flipping between comedy and drama without damaging the integrity of the backstory, or the integrity of the characters.

Season 2, Episode 21. "Adam Raised a Cain" A regular dies a quick, cold death, while John Henry tries to save Savannah, even going so far as to tell lies to Catherine Weaver. An amazing episode. There is no clear place to begin heaping praise. Supernatural. Season 4, Episode 4. "Metamorphosis" An ordinary married man is changing into something evil. The boys are not sure how to handle this one... A shining example of what a great show Supernatural is.

06.30 Reaper 07.30 Pushing Daisies 08.30 Supernatural 01.00 The Office Sigh. Sigh. Wonderful Olive-centric episode. Kristin Chenoweth sings again and I love her just a little bit more than I already did. They need to have her sing in every episode. Supernatural. Season 4, Episode 3. "In the Beginning" Castiel sends Dean back to April, 1973, where he meets his parents in one of the show's best-ever episodes. Awesome. The Office. Season 5, Episode 22. "Heavy Competition" Michael vs. Dwight. Highlight? Supernatural (one of the best-ever episodes) Yet Another TV Review Podcast Yet Another TV Review Book Yet Another Film Review Blog One Year Ago

"A Very Supernatural Christmas" Another goofy story, but good character writing makes for a very good episode. Dean and Sam go up against what appears to be a killer Santa, and it prompts Sam to think back to Christmas Eve, 1991, when the two boys were alone and he first found out that monsters were real. Good Morning Miami. Episode 12. "Jake's Nuts Roasting on an Open Fire" One of the very best episodes. Light on comedy, but heavy on drama and heartbreak. Poor guy. It's not heavy on laughs, but the cast and story carry the episode and make it very entertaining.

05.30 Pushing Daisies 06.30 Kyle XY 07.30 Supernatural 11.30 Good Morning Miami Pushing Daisies. Season 2, Episode 9. "The Legend of Merle McQuoddy" This time out the case-of-the-week is as strong and interesting as the ongoing storyline. This current run of episodes has been the highlight of the series so far. Supernatural. Season 3, Episode 6. "Red Sky at Morning" A very weak episode that finds the boys going up against the ghost of a vengeful sailor. It's another one of those goofy story ideas, in which future victims see a huge ghostly sailing ship hours before they die, but that is not why it fails to entertain. It's a dud because Bela sucks and none of the comedy works.

05.30 Pushing Daisies 06.30 Kyle XY 07.30 Supernatural Jessi is really well written in this episode. I feel for her: the outsider, trying to fit in and forever a victim of her past. She does the wrong thing at the end of this story, but I understand why she did it. Supernatural. Season 3, Episode 4. "Sin City" Sasha Barrese is yet another beautiful-beyond-belief guest star, the story is more low key than usual and it's fascinating to see the reversal that's happened between the brothers (Dean mellowed, Sam bloodthirsty), but... this is one of the weakest episodes in a while. I loved everything in this episode. Cindy Sampson, the story, mini-Dean, the scare-factor and the shocks and twists. I loved everything in this episode. Good Morning Miami. Episode 10. "If It's Not One Thing, It's a Mother" One of the most imporant episodes of GMM. It is well written/performed, it's does a great job with all of the characters and it is funny. But, even as it stands (Penny-lite and all) this is still a very good episode. Highlight? 05.30 Pushing Daisies 06.30 Kyle XY 07.30 Supernatural Pushing Daisies. Season 2, Episode 6. "Oh Oh Oh...It's Magic" Delightful from start to finish. Ned is rather grumpy for the duration of this episode and Lee Pace has a field day with the role. He's hilarious. Anna Friel gets to shine, too, when Chuck tries out various accents and constantly bombards her real mother with phone calls from 'strangers'. With a storyline closely tied to Ned's family background this episode feels less like a case-of-the-week and is all the better for it. Highlight?
