Matt Roush : As far as I know, and leaning on the expertise of our in-house reporter who covers the show very closely, there still isn’t a decision on what will happen after Supernatural wraps this season of the apocalypse. This is what the series has been building up to all along, and we should all be thrilled the show got the chance to go there. Beyond that, Kripke & Co. would probably have to conceive a new story arc so the show wouldn’t go back to being demon-of-the-week (as entertaining as many of those episodes are). If everyone on the show wanted to move forward, I’d be surprised if the CW stood in their way, given the corporate interest Warner Bros. TV has in the franchise. That said, if season 5 ends on a note that gives us a satisfying finish,...

"Death Takes a Holiday" A town where nobody can die. Again. This episode belongs to the brothers. While their characters are deeper and more layered than ever before, it's obvious that they have swapped places from their roles in the pilot. Sam is now the dark, agressive one while Dean wants nothing more than to live the life of a normal person. Jared Padalecki and Jensen Ackles are doing their best ever work as we watch the boys talk about these issues and in any of the scenes where we see Sam's gradual seduction over to the dark side, and it's impact on their relationship.

"Long-Distance Call" Everyone on town is getting a phone call from a loved one who died... Much better than last week. This looks and feels like Supernatural. And as case-of-the-week episodes go, it's a pretty good one. Nothing spectacular, but it's a solid bad guy and the brothers have some conflict, too. Kyle XY. Season 3, Episode 3. "Electric Kiss" Kyle and Jessi work together to help Amanda. Awful. The worst episode of Battlestar Galactica and - to be honest - one of the worst episodes of anything.

Episode 15. "The Benders" Not being knowledgeable about Supernatural fandom I have no idea how this episode is perceived, but I loved it. Loved it! What a brilliant way to wrongfoot the viewer. An episode of Supernatural where nothing supernatural occurs. And not just any episode: an action-packed, creepy episode with great acting, great character-work and great guest stars. Sam and Dean are seperated when one of them is kidnapped by backwoods weirdos. (Yes, that's a bit of TV cliché but who cares, when the results are this good?) By taking on non-supernatural foes the series opens itself up even more. Wow. Not that it needed it. Now where can I read Supernatural reviews from Season one?
