TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES News For Monday (Colons Are Odious Edition) It’s New Episode Monday here at the Sarah Connor Society and the News Round Up is back with all the TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES news you can wring out of an Internet search engine. Yes, after breaking for one of the most interesting World Series playoffs in a while (a five-man infield? And the first interrupted game in the history of the series) the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES is back with an all-new episode “The Brothers of Nablus” and if you absolutely cannot wait until 8 o’clock/7 Central, take a look at these promos here, here, here, here and here.  It’s almost like they really want you to watch the show or something. And although the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES was on hiatus (and yours truly took a little break [01101100 01100001 01111010 01111001 00100000 01100001 01110011 01110011 ~ Trip]), Erika, Kate and the rest of the staff at the Sarah Connor Society have been hard at work to keep you up to date on the latest SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES and TERMINATOR news including a new clip from Laid to Rest (contents not safe for work, school or my life *eek*), two massive gallery updates, new pics from the upcoming SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES episode “Complications”, a Sarah Connor Society fan video contest winner and a link to the Q&A Dekker_Daily hosted with Thomas Dekker this past weekend. So much for the old news, onto the new news… The SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES held a conference call with new cast member/character I don’t trust as far as I could hurl her, Stephanie Jacobsen, and you can read all about it from io9, IGN, SciFi Wire and our friends over at The TV Addict: Is there any chance that Jesse isn’t human? Oh look, it’s the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. I’d say anything is possible. What I can say is that you’ll learn a lot more about where Jesse is coming from in forthcoming episodes. What’s interesting, is that her future is somewhat different to Derek’s and you’ll see a little bit about how their paths cross soon. There’s an episode upcoming where you’ll get an indication of the psychological affects that the war has had. I imagine those affects are not good! They’re interesting. On Monday’s episode you’ll basically see Jesse really lapping it up. Taking advantage of the respite she’s found from the war. You’ll get to see a way in which she’s different from Derek. Although she obviously has her intentions and her goals and she is focused, she is sort of interested in indulging just a little bit in the luxuries of life before Judgement Day.  I have to agree with Intern Trip on this one:  01100110 01101100 01100101 01110011 01101000 01111001 00100000 01101111 01101110 01100101 00100000 01101001 01110011 00100000 01110100 01110010 01101111 01110101 01100010 01101100 01100101! We also have a profile of Shirley Manson courtesy of UK scandal sheet, The Daily Mail: She had been approached before for acting roles and had rejected them, only to accept the role in The Sarah Connor Chronicles after jokingly being asked by the wife of the show’s producer, Josh Friedman, if she’d be interested. ‘And I thought, “Why not?”‘ says Shirley, who was born in Scotland and retains her Edinburgh lilt for the role. ‘It’s so exciting to be on a film set and I keep thinking I’m in Sunset Boulevard, or something. It’s so surreal, having grown up in Scotland watching TV shows and then suddenly to be living in Hollywood, making one,’ she giggles. ‘It makes me feel like a kid in the sandpit because I’m connecting with that playful side of myself all over again.’ Also from the UK: Empire Magazine has proclaimed Lena Headey one of “28 British Stars Taking Hollywood By Storm” The Japanese site for Lena Headey’s upcoming horror movie The Broken is live with a creepy new trailer.  If you haven’t seen it already, the French version is here and you can check out the new international poster in the SCS gallery. Meanwhile, John Connor’s erstwhile galpal, Leven Rambin has a new film project. She’ll be joining LOST’s Harold Perrineau in “Case 219″ based on the novel “Shooter” by Walter Dean Myers about the aftermath of  a high school shooting from the perspective of three misfit teens. The Hollywood Reporter has all the details. From the other side of the camera, iF Magazine has an interview with SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES composer Bear McCreary: iF: How much of Brad Fiedel’s theme did you want to keep in SARAH CONNOR? And would you say your music is a “spin off” of the tone he established in the first two TERMINATOR films? McCREARY: I kept as much as I was allowed: 5 seconds over the title card.  I was disappointed at first, since I wanted to incorporate Brad’s theme song throughout the score. Legal and financial reasons completely out of my control made that impossible.  However, I think it was a blessing in disguise.  Being unable to use the recognizable “Terminator” melody, I set out to write a “Sarah Connor” theme.  Clearly, I’m biased, but I think my theme suits the series perfectly.  Brad’s theme is so powerful, so iconic… yet when I hear it, I always picture Schwarzenegger.  It always struck me as being representative of the terminator himself, and of the universe, but not necessarily about Sarah Connor personally…. Head over to If Magazine to read the rest. In miscellaneous TERMINATOR-related news, io9 calls John and “Uncle Bob” from T2 one of “30 Burning Sci-Fi Bromances“and thinks that “it’s not easy being John Connor” [01110100 01110010 01111001 00100000 01100010 01100101 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01100001 00100000 01110100 01100101 01110010 01101101 01101001 01101110 01100001 01110100 01101111 01110010 ~ Trip].  Todd recommends the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, TV Guide has the low-down on FOX programming for November Sweeps, including the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES, and the LA Times recycles THR’s piece on how the economic ’slowdown’ may have benefited certain low-rated shows on the fall schedule. In related news, our sister-site Multipleverses.com has posted an op-ed about Nielsen’s struggle to show they are still relevant and accurate in the digital age. Interesting and borderline maddening for any TV fan who’s watched their favourite show get shafted because it didn’t appeal to the extremely narrow niche composed of the “average” Nielsen viewer. And finally, from the desk of my intern, Trip: An Aspiring Science Fiction Scholar has award the Terminator franchise the award for Best Apocalypse in the category of “Hostile Technological Takeover”. io9 links you to the blogger who will help you survive the apocalypse Gizmodo documents the horror of robots turning on their human masters, and Meet Jules, the freakishly life-like robot head who wants to destroy humanity… or maybe just Wales.   Uh, Trip? What did we talk about? 01100100 01100101 01100001 01110100 01101000 00100000 01110100 01101111 00100000 01110100 01101000 01100101 00100000 01100110 01101100 01100101 01110011 01101000 01111001 00100000 01101111 01101110 01100101? No, not about Jesse. The other thing. 01101110 01101111 00100000 01100101 01101110 01100100 01101001 01101110 01100111 00100000 01101000 01110101 01101101 01100001 01101110 00100000 01110010 01100001 01100011 01100101 00100000 01100010 01100101 01100110 01101111 01110010 01100101 00100000 01110101 00100000 01100011 00100000 01110111 01100001 01110100 01100011 01101000 01101101 01100101 01101110?
