TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES NEWS FOR MONDAY (The Tech Support Is a Lie Edition) Derek had a short but explosive career in computers. Things have been a been a little hectic here at the News Round Up, what with Trip the Intern taking a few days off for the funeral, LA wildfires making life a pain for our West Coast office and ongoing technical problems at the home offices in Kapuskasing. But we’re back in time for an all-new, apparently all-weird episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES. What’s next for the Connors now that Cromartie, the relentless killer machine hunting them since TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES’ first episode, has gone to its final reward (”reward” defined here as “a shallow grave in a Mexican backwater somewheres”)? A vacation? Or how about just a good night’s sleep for Mother of the Future Sarah Connor? Not so much, according to FOX, as “Sarah’s mystifying nightmares creep into her real life, but what do they mean for her and John? Meanwhile, Derek and Jesse investigate a possible Skynet conspirator in the “Complications” episode of TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES”. And from the looks of this preview clip, Sarah’s mystifying nightmares are mystifiying indeed (turtles? Seriously, turtles?). And you know something seriously weird is going on when even the Official Blog thinks you’re gonna need to watch this one twice, while John Wirth stops by to tease the audience a little: A few months ago, Ian Goldberg announced that he wanted to write an episode inspired by the classic movie The Night Porter, a French film starring Dirk Bogarde and Charlotte Rampling, written and directed by Liliani Cavani. We all got very excited about the prospect of this, I had some vague memory of how much I liked and/or admired the film, though I could not recall a frame of it, except maybe a shot of Bogarde at the counter through the front door of the hotel, and I suspected that even that memory was unreliable. Anyway, we embarked upon this little exercise and about three days into breaking the story, Ian confessed that he’d, in fact, never seen the movie. And so we all decided we needed to see the movie if we were going to write something inspired by it. So, cut to a week later, and the only person who actually went out and rented it and saw it was Toni Graphia, who thought it was creepy and disturbing and not as sexy as she’d hoped it would be. And this, readers, is why TNRU thinks Toni Graphia is totally awesome. Tune and find out what the hell’s going on in Sarah’s head tonight at 8:00 PM ET/PT on FOX and then join us in the Sarah Connor Society Forums for bible study and ovaltine post-ep discussion and all things SARAH CONNOR. In cast news… Cromartie may have gone out in a blaze of glory last week but his portrayer, Garret Dillahunt is alive and well and talking to one of TNRU’s favourite TV blogs, PasstheRemote: “What I’ve really come to enjoy about [Cromartie] is his complete lack of hesitation,” says Garret. “I really admire that because it’s something I don’t have in myself. I will sit and observe, weigh options, give into doubt. What I really dig about Cromartie is the fact that he has a job to do, and he just gets down to doing it. He doesn’t waste time over thinking or being overly concerned for his own safety. I would like to be that guy – sort of the decisive, Jason Bourne [of the Bourne series of films], man-of-action guy who just sees a job that needs doing and does it without waiting around for someone else to do it.” Oh, Cromartie. We’ll miss you. But at least we’ll always have The Beastwizard to get us through. Meanwhile, Crave Online has posted an interview with Leven Rambin from earlier this fall: Crave Online: If [Riley] found out about [John's] world, would she freak out? Leven Rambin: No, she would think it was cool. She would probably think it was really cool. She just is down for anything. She’s kind of a renegade too at heart. She’s just like a spunky, spontaneous kind of person. I don’t think she would react like that. You gotta wonder what Riley thinks about John’s secrets now that she’s been shot at? Rambin also posted a message to her fans on her official site: I just wanted to stop by the site to thank everyone for their support of TSCC. Without such amazing, dedicated fans we would probably not have survived the whole season! I want to let everyone know that we’re working really hard to bring you AMAZING, MIND-BLOWING episodes (like ep 8, which has been my favorite thus far) beyond the initial 13 episodes ordered. The back 9 episodes we have already started filming kick ass, too!! keep watching and i hope Riley is growing on you like she is me! Thanks to Rambin_Daily for the link Earlier in the week, Thomas Dekker dropped Dekker_Daily a line about the hug John and Sarah shared at the end of “Mr. Ferguson Is Ill Today”: i am so very happy that that moment touched a lot of the fans, because it really touched us to shoot it. josh friedman promised us at the beginning of the season that sarah and john reuniting, at least to some extent, woud happen eventually and Lena and I have been waiting for it. it was so wonderful for us to film, as it is actually hard to do the angy scenes all the time with each other. we’re too close! but we felt that that moment, is what the whole series is really about and what our characters are about. the truth is, john loves sarah just as much as she loves him, and watching that scene, I feel that. they are two warriors, who’s existence is solely based on their alliance, trusting and depending on each other in a world where nothing but their bond, can truly be trusted or depended on. happy. bye dekker daily! No comment on whether or not TNRU was touched. TNRU has a reputation to maintain. 01110101 00100000 01100011 01110010 01101001 01100101 01100100 00100000 01101100 01101001 01101011 01100101 00100000 01100001 00100000 01100010 01100001 01100010 01111001! Anyway… speaking of Thomas Dekker, he was profiled in the November issue of Cosmo Girl (above and in the Sarah Connor Society galleries). Thanks (again) to Dekker_Daily for the scan. From GlauDaily, we have this clip of Summer Glau talking about the movies that make her cry. And for the three people on the Internet who have heard of Summer Glau but haven’t seen FIREFLY, IGN has a review of the series on Blu-Ray. Finally, Lena Headey made EW.com’s list of potential future Bond girls. What the EW piece doesn’t mention is that Headey actually costarred with current James Bond, Daniel Craig, in an episode of the British TV series The Hunger back in 1997 (01100011 01101000 01100101 01100011 01101011 00100000 01111001 01101111 01110101 01110100 01110101 01100010 01100101). The New York Post’s Popwrap blog was very taken with the new poster for THE BROKEN, which is playing at the Inverness Film Festival on Wednesday, which is officially 600 per cent more exciting than anything that went on when I was actually in Inverness. For those looking for a rather more immediate Lena Heady/horror movie fix should head over to AfterEllen.com where Headey guests in the latest hilariously over-the-top episode of GHOSTELLA’S HAUNTED TOMB. In other news… FOXFLASH has updated the schedule for TERMINATOR: THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES: “Strange Things Happen at the One-Two Point” will now air on November 24th, followed by “Self-Made Man” on December 1st, which appears to be what the Official Blog said would happen all along. OnLocation Vacations has an interesting shot from behind-the-scenes of the SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES taken back in September. Uh, since when does Sarah Connor do leisurewear? Core77 wins the prize for most out-of-left-field SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES mention of the week: When you hear “ergonomic chair” you inevitably think “office worker.” But what about people in the manufacturing sector? Even factory workers have to sit (except for those industrial robots, who relax by huddling in the break room and watching Sarah Connor Chronicles). Mr. Ferguson was not alone in feeling ill. Finally, to get you in the mood for tonight’s episode, the Sarah Connor Society’s own Allergygal is back with another cracktastic episode of the Sarah Connor Comicals. Until next time, remember that a red bra under a white shirt is always a fashion “don’t” - even for killer robots from the future (01100011 01111001 01100010 01100101 01110010 01101110 01100101 01110100 01101001 01100011 00100000 01101111 01110010 01100111 01100001 01101110 01101001 01110011 01101101!).
